Prloko Wrote:Yeah, I did TESC and tested out of almost the entire degree with the exception of TQM (actually, I took two other classes, but by choice, you can easily test out of them). That is the only course you have to take as I couldn't find anything including ACE to replace it. You can TECEP Operations Mgmt. If you are in the military, your AF CCAF courses will transfer, and there are a bunch of DAU courses that they will accept.
I'm looking at the website and it says that you must complete at least 24 hours with TESC. Is there a way around it?

BealeAFB23 Wrote:Hi there and yes! I am in Contracting. Are you in Contracting? Did you directly apply the credits to the school or did you do the experimental learning portfolio?
Yes, I was an active duty Contract Specialist, now I'm a civilian GS-13, thanks in part to TESC and the AF. No experiential learning. I had a combo of CLEP/DSST, CCAF/ALS/NCOA, BYU/ST LEO, and the rest TESC courses/TECEP. I didn't use the DAU classes because I didn't need them, but in your case I would jump on them because they are upper level. If you are early in the UMUC process, I would drop them, they aren't as military friendly as they claim they are. You can finish with TESC much quicker, and now that gingerbeef says that the AF will pay for TECEPs, a much cheaper option.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

yes, you can do the enrolled option. Under that plan, you will have to pay the annual enrollment fee (about $1700 for military). GI Bill used to cover it, but now they refuse and make you do the per credit option, unless you can prove that somehow it would cost them more.
You can also do 8 TECEPs which according to gingerbeefE, AF TA pays for. Those are your options for TESC, either do 24 credits with them which AF TA will pay for, or do the enrolled option, transfer in all your credits except TQM, and pay $1700. If you are in a rush, the $1700 may be worth it, but since it will probably take about a year for you to finish the DAU courses that you need to transfer in, you can get some TECEPS and courses done in that time.

Beale,
I Have attached two files to help you out. I couldn't find my original academic eval. I have attached my excel plan (note there are changes at TESC) which shows how my CCAF courses transferred at the time (as we had discussed previously, they no longer transfer CC credits as upper level). But no problem, the other attachment shows how ACE has assessed the DAU courses you have taken or will have to take included CON 170, 234, 270, 280, 290.
There are about 15 credits there, with 12 upper level which if you include the required OM, Strategic Mgmt and TQM courses you have to take will take you to the 18 upper level credits you need. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, be sure to share with your fellow Airmen, I am an Airman for life and love to help out my Bros/Sis'.
Good Luck!
