Here is a link if you don't believe me!
New Hampshire (NH) Sales Tax Rates by City
Of all the New England states I suspect NH is the one I could get along in. I don't think many of the rest would let me keep all these guns. Smile

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

New Hampshire is the CLEAR choice (for now). The only thing that I have to say about CT is that as far as I know, we are one of just a few states that DON"T use those RedFlex "scameras" to mail you a ticket for rolling over the line on a red light.

Funny story. My company's three major offices are in FL, TX, and NH so I could live in any of those states and enjoy the freedoms my great great great grandfather Captain Andrew Sharp fought for in the America Revolution.

I finished Ilgunas' book. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and here's the review I left, mistakes and all:

An enjoyable read by a thoughtful and talented author. I found much to respect about Ilgunas' insights, journey in "finding himself" and mostly the unique way he went about paying off his mountain of student debt. His story isn't for everyone to copy exactly, one must blaze their own trail in life after all, but it does offer some ideas and inspiration for our own personal journey. I also like the fact that he and I would have some serious disagreements over politics, there was still enough of himself in this writing I liked and respected that those things just didn't matter.

I guess it depends on the property tax you would owe each year on that cabin. They make up in property taxes what they don't get in income and sales taxes.

The property tax rates in most towns in NH are lower than in CT for the average home. But, I suspect most states have lower tax rates than CT. I am blessed to live in a state with an income tax a high property tax and probably the highest gas tax in the country.

Very much so.

When the Connecticut legislature can't figure out how to solve a problem they handle it in one of five ways. Option #1 Pass a new Tax, option #2 Raise an existing tax, option #3 Pass a ban, option #4 Expand an existing ban, option #5 Commission a study to see if any of options 1-4 are necessary

This isn't funny. I just joined the Sons of the American Revolution. My patriot ancestor is George Wren from South Carolina and he fought for General Thomas Sumter in 1780. I have many other patriot ancestors but this is the one I joined with.
