IQ Tests
#21
nj593 Wrote:The IQ test now has become a vanity for people to state a number.
More or less! As flattering as it is to get a high score, it's just a score. It would be less ridiculous to take an average from all your CLEP exams and give that as a representation of your overall intelligence. It may point in the right direction, but it is hardly the "end all" indicator -- just like IQ.

Really, IQ tests are fun mental workouts as much as anything. Big Grin

i test very high.. i won't give an iq, but as cookderosa said earlier..

it is really about motivation.

although someone who tries hard and doesn't have the tools might not do as well as someone who doesn't try but has the tools...

motivation + direction + at least some ability will do you well...

thomas edison said that genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.. (reversed)..

the problem with doing well in a lot of different fields is that you may become very very very bored with this b/c they don't present a challenge to you. so you simply never focus...

Like other people have said, hard work and motivation trumps IQ every time.
