I just got the Beginning Algebra completed and on my ACE transcript and am moving onto Intermediate Algebra. I took the assessment right away and got a 69% so I am going to spend the next 48 hours trying to learn exactly what I am missing. It was frustrating but I like learning the material.

Im so happy right now! I put in my Beginner Algebra class to Ace and waited for it to be approved, I was dreading Intermediate Algebra thinking here we go again, but I got a 69% on the first assessment, I want to scream with joy lol. I have always been awful at and hated Math with a passion, I started ALEKS at 9%, I just have to share how happy I am to have found this forum, otherwise I would probably be skipping a degree because of Math.

Congratulations!! :hurray:
I know how you feel! I now do the regular/basic math stuff in my head!?!...Scary. Aleks is wonderful for cementing the concepts into memory. Going forward you never look at math problems the same because the fear (mental block) has been removed! And just think how efficient we all are now with our calculators.

Question: can I use the beginning algebra for the "One college-level mathematics course" requirement for the english degree?
Also, what is the level of difficulty of beginning algebra, intermediate algebra and college algebra compared to the CLEP college mathematics?
This sounds like a great deal! I actually did calculus back in high school, but it's been so long. I am hoping it will come back to me as I go along and hopefully it won't take too long.

Calculus, you will blow through them. You will need to confer with your academic advisor on the exact placement of these courses in your degree program. Beginning algebra compares to CLEP General Math 102 and for most would be a remedial course. (TESC accepts it as a gen ed.) Intermediate is MAT-115 at TESC and does meet the degree requirement for Liberal Studies.
With your background I would blow through beginning and intermediate to refresh, and then hit the college algebra and/or precalculus. The first two you should have knocked out within hours. Intermediate builds on beginning. College Algebra is where the action begins. If you donât get through college algebra on the first assessment they start giving you more advanced stuff (more in tune with precalc). But as you already have the necessary foundation you should be fine.
Go for it, you could get a decent amount of college credit for $20 (monthly subscription fee) and the cost of an ace account which includes the first transcript for $40.

Honestly I would wait until itâs officially on my ace transcript but thatâs just me. From other posts it seems when it says approved ace has what they need from aleks but I would tread cautiously. If you were just going on to another course, fine. But what happens if someone drops the ball at ace, your course record at may have been wiped clean. I would wait few more days until it is official then cancel; just my two centavos.
