I am finally a college graduate!
#1
I never thought I'd get to go back to college, but here I am with my diploma from Pierpont and I've been accepted into nursing school which starts in a few weeks! I'm very lucky that this nursing program accepted all my ACE credits for the prerequisites. Many schools I applied to would not.

I'm attaching my Pierpont evaluation which shows exactly which classes applied to my degree. I had a lot of biology courses so went with an area of emphasis in biology.

I'll also write the courses below for those who can't view that.

Sophia

Intro to stats
College algebra
Intro to IT
Accounting
Microeconomics
Macroeconomics
Intro to business
US history I
US history II
Intro to sociology
Communication at work
Environmental science
Human biology

Study.com

Biology I w/ lab
Microbiology w/ lab
Anatomy & phys I w/ lab
Anatomy & phys II w/ lab

UMPI

Eng Comp I
Eng Comp II
American Gov

I took many more classes than this before I really knew what I was going to do degree-wise.

Thank you to everyone on this forum. I'm so glad I found it, it has been an invaluable resource to me the last couple years.

@sixxx2069, congrats on completing the Pierpont BOG AAS degree with emphasis in Biology! So, you're laddering up to the UMPI BLS with a minor or two? Nice, I see Pierpont has a couple of those UMPI classes, I guess you used them for the Graded/RA requirement!

Which schools were you able to find in nursing which accepted your ACE credits? Much like the information shared here for Associates and Bachelors degree’s, you’d really help a lot of people by creating a pathway/list of what you did to get accepted into an RN program with ACE credits Smile!
The science courses are usually a big hurdle for most!

Yes I was surprised I found two different schools that accepted my ACE credits! I'm in Virginia and some of the bigger well-known universities do not accept any ACE credits whatsoever. My local community college accepted 75% of my ACE credits. I don't want to say which one so I don't potentially dox myself.

The other is Averett University. Most accelerated BSN programs require a bachelor's degree in another field, however Averett does not. You do need at least 60 credits of classes though. Here: https://absn.averett.edu/admissions/prerequisites/ is the list of prerequisites. My english credits are RA, but they accepted ACE credits for everything else, so I'd imagine ACE english classes would be accepted as well.

Averett is NOT cheap. It was around 65-70 thousand for the full program. There are lots of scholarship opportunities. If the cost doesn't matter to you then it's probably a great option for starting a career in nursing quickly. It's 4 back-to-back semesters. https://absn.averett.edu/absn-program/curriculum/

If you want to go into nursing or another health field definitely check with your local schools/cc to see if they'll take ACE credit. You might be surprised like I was.

Thanks for the response Smile. I’m actually using the ACE method to get into Law School.
I’m looking in Maine/Virginia/Wisconsin and California currently.
That’s epic that you found a program which will let you use your ACE. I know how stubborn those science courses can be. I’ve read reviews that Portage learning is also a good route, and it looks like Sophia now has Micro/Lab, nutrition, A&P 1/Lab, intro to chemistry and biology with labs, and Stats/Algebra.

Drexel University in PA seems like a really great BSN acceleration program (post bachelors). 11 months, but it’s also 60k+ in cash lol.

I looked at your transcript and saw umpi was the only one that gave  letter grades. SO how did you send your transcripts from study.com and sophia to piermont? Did you have to use credly? Or did you send the credits directly from sophia and study.com? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Yes, you use Credly for non community college or university credits, all the ACE credit providers such as Sophia.org, Study.com, needs to come from Credly in order to get the credits. Essentially, get all the Sophia.org credits you can, and also the $25 ASU 1 credit class on the WIKI, follow the instructions here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC
