How to push an assessment in ALEKS
#1
ALEKS has been religiously assessing me every time I get to about 3% more on my pie. But now that I'm finally above 70, it hasn't given me one. I took one earlier tonight and scored 67%. It's 2am, I'm at 72% in what I've completed but the system has not popped up with another assessment. Reading the threads, it looks like I should be able to push an assessment from the Master account, but there's no option for it when I sign into it. Only option is quizzes which don't count toward the assessment.

Help?!!!!!

You need to log into the admin account not the user account and you can request a new assessment.

There should be two choices: quizzes and reports. Click reports, then student progress reports. Look under the action box, there is a link to request assessment. (Source: Aleks Tutors - Take a Tour)

If your master account is set up differently you may need to contact technical support. Just give a call to Aleks, they are very helpful and tech support works fast to correct any account errors.

Thank you both for the advice....but I figured since I'm taking this math thing, and computers are just big calculators...and the report section gives a bunch of analytics....I should be able to figure out why. And I did!!!

The report clearly showed a trend. On 2 of the days I was buzzing through topics faster and raising my topics per hour and on those days the assessments didn't happen until 6% and 7%. Since I saved a bunch of topics I knew pretty well for the end (kinda saving breath for a sprint to the finish) my topics per hour were at their highest yesterday.

I logged in on my iPhone and left ALEKS open while I was at work today, occasionally touching it to navigate, but not to answer questions. And I noticed my topics per hour were dropping. After 2.5 hours, the assessment popped up.

The algorithm must be set for an average topics per hour to fire. I took it at home just now and I'm done!!
