Hi everyone~
we were discussing this in the UMPI discord but couldn't find an answer- how soon after finishing the last course are degrees conferred? Do we have to wait until next May for them to be conferred or is it something they do more than once a year?

I can only give you my experience. Spring 2 ended May 5, commencement was May 7, degree conferral showed up on my transcript on May 30, and I received my diploma in the mail on June 27.
EDIT: I can say, however, that the degree conferral isn't an annual occurrence and can happen after any session. But I, personally, don't know the standard timeline.

Degrees confer between 2 to 4 weeks after the grades are due for the session. Grades are due the Friday after the session ends - a week later. Diplomas are shipping about 4-6 weeks after the session ends. Sometimes a little longer. May tends to be a longer wait since the entire university is graduating. Degrees are conferred 6 times a year.
