How old to get Aleks ACE credits
#1
Does anyone knows how old you have to be to get college credits for Aleks courses and do you have to open ACE account first or anytime after completing the courses ?

My 17 yr old son took several courses last year and received credit through ACE. This year my 14yr and 16 yr olds are working on ALEKS and have received ACE credit as well.

EDIT to add: You don't have to open an ACE account before starting the courses, you can open it anytime while doing an ALEKS course. I opened my childrens several days before I knew that they would complete their first ALEKS course.

I have a 13 year old who wants to challenge himself. I don't want to open his ACE account yet until he finishes his courses. Can Aleks hold the credit until he goes to college and ready to use the credits ?

Opening an ACE account isn't a thing- it's just simply a free sign up. You can open an ACE account for any/all of your children. It just sits there waiting for the day if/when you decide to do something with it. I see no reason to delay- if he is doing ALEKS, open his ACE account now.

Next, ALEKS will NOT hold anything!!! You might be mixed up and mean ACE, in that case, yes.

After completion of an ALEKS assessment at 70% or higher, you go into his ACE account and ask ACE to review his ALEKS score. They will decide he passed and add the ALEKS class to his ACE account (transcript). That will sit there until/if/when you request a transcript be sent to future college.

The moment you end your relationship with an ALEKS class, it is over. So, PLEASE remember to get his score logged into his ACE account before you let your subscription with them expire. ALEKS saves NOTHING. If you start him into the next course or drop this one, there will be no record of his work. You HAVE to get to 70% and you HAVE to get it to ACE before it counts.
