Hello, I have seen posts of people doing the BAS with HTY and POS but I have not seen posts of people with the BLS and minors on POS and HTY. Are they quite different? I am doing BLS with POS but I cannot decide on the other minor but I am really enjoying the history courses so I figured I would ask here before emailing my advisor, who I have bothered countless times about all minors lol
Also, if BLS with POS and HTY is possible, do the courses overlap with no problem?
I would like to see a plan with the 2 minors to see what classes would apply to which
Thanks!

You need at least 9 unique credits in each minor that don’t overlap but it’s absolutely possible. There are several history/political science classes that apply to both minors such as HTY/POS Native History, Arab-Israel conflict, Vietnam Wars, Modern China, International Relations/Modern Conflicts.
You can see the full list of course offerings here:

Basically, you need 30 residency credits with them, you will need to complete at least some of the classes that are not transferable from each of the minors. I would get your advisor or coach to add the second minor and create a document that highlights your remaining classes. We will then know which classes can be transferred in from Sophia.org and Study.com combo. In fact, if you do transfer in all classes to these two minors, you can take any class to make up those 30 credit requirements, thus some people add a third minor or take the 3-4 classes that go towards the MAOL later.
You might want to take a look at the UMPI WIKI and degree plans, including the History and Political Science

OP,
I graduated last fall with a BLS with CJ, HTY and POS minors, and can tell you that it's a bit clunky sometimes to figure out. Even the advisors have a difficult time, so you will likely need to remind them of what classes are cross-posted and count for both minors. If they give you problems, escalate it higher and it will get figured out.
Cross-posted HTY and POS courses will fulfill the requirements for both minors, however like another reply said, 9 credits must be unique to the minor. You also must complete 12 resident credits in your first minor (for you that's POS).
However, it's worth noting that US Gov class (POS101) that's a part of the GEC DOES qualify as 3 of the "unique" credits for POS. So you only need 2 other POS classes that aren't being used anywhere else.
Here's the courses that I used to fill HTY and POS:
History:
HTY439 (cross-posted and used for both)
HTY370 (cross-posted and used for both)
HTY489 (unique)
HTY371 (cross-posted and used for both)
HTY161 (unique)
HTY162 (unique)
Poli Sci:
POS101 (unique- from GEC)
POS371 (cross-posted and used for both)
POS332 (unique)
POS439 (cross-posted and used for both)
POS370 (cross-posted and used for both)
POS335 (unique)
Hope that helps!
