How can I speed up my bachelors?
#1
Dear ICDF,

How might I speed up my bachelors degree progress? I hear that TESU/Other Certification based degrees are of the past.

I am trying to get into WGU, but with strange circumstances I cannot join past July.

Right now I am at an online university, and moving extremely slowly. At this pace I will be done in 2-3 years.

I am going to try to add some more self-paced classes to my UND degree, but how may I used CLEP/Study.com/other to speed up my learning?

Thank you!

What gives you the impression that TESU is of the past? TESU is still a valid school and you can still transfer in most of the credits that are necessary to obtain a degree.

I'm not sure about the policies of UND (University of North Dakota?) but a lot of larger universities don't actually allow you to use any self-paced options (like SDC and Sophia) aside from CLEP exams. So, if you want to continue on with that specific university, there may be nothing you can do.

If you're open to transferring, please check out https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Ch...University and answer the following questions:

1. What degree do you want?
2. Do you prefer exams or papers?
3. Are you bilingual?
4. What university courses have you already completed? (List school, course name, catalog number, and grade.)
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

It has been mentioned, but not in detail:

How limited is TESU in what I can do degree-wise?

What degree do you want? You can see a list of faster/cheaper degrees and their plans here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ts_Roadmap But, depending on what degree you're trying to obtain, a different school might be a better option.

That's the same poster that asked about the current utility of BAin4Weeks. I think they mean the old days of testing out completely at TESU have passed.

At least I think that's what they mean.

Ah!

Well, you can still mostly test out of a degree. It just depends on what degree you want and how much time/money/effort you're willing to put into it.

Pretty sure they were asked to do that on the TESU testing thread and never did. It didn't seem like they wanted to share any info just collect info. It doesn't quite work that way though. Can't help someone if you don't know what specifically they're looking to do.

Most of the degrees we recommend can be done in 6-12 months.

You should be able to do a lot of the courses for CLEP and other alt credit providers in 1 week or less.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

@OP, you really need to follow up with a reply using the template in post #7. Seriously, if you want an answer more for your current situation, we need to see the picture of your current budgets, commitments, dedication, time, etc... whatever info you can provide us to further paint the full details.

We don't know which degree/school you're aiming for... the age of your previous credits, or the number of years experience in the work field, which industry you're in or wanting to get into... I can only suggest at this point in time, to do 90 alternative credits and transfer to the degree/school of choice - Big 3 or Competency Based degree provider.
