Second bachelors for my sister?
#1
My sister has a previous BA in Psychology from a brick & mortar. She'd like to complete a second bachelors, she's leaning toward a BSBA. What are her options? I do know UMPI would be cheapest, but other than that, what are here best options for completing this quickly and affordably?

Why go for a second bachelor's and not an MBA?

She doesn’t have much work experience outside retail/food service. She doesn’t want to get an MBA without some relevant work experience first. Feels like the masters could work against her

For TESU, Gen Eds would be waived and elective automatically filled because of the prior degree, leaving just the AOS classes to complete. If she doesn't want to do a CBE degree, TESU would probably be her best bet.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

What does TESU cost roughly? Also I don’t think she’s opposed to CBE options, sorry if the post came off that way

Depends on if she wants to do the 15 credit term for residency or not.

If 15-credit term, $4299 + Study.com and Sophia classes.

If she just takes the capstone, that's 3 credits x $545 = $1635. Plus $3354 residency waiver fee or $4989 at TESU. Plus Sophia/SDC courses.

UMPI will be cheapest if she can do it in 3 sessions or fewer. TESU starts to be cheaper if she's willing to do the 15 credit term and/or thinks she might take 4 or 5 sessions at UMPI.

So if you take 15 credits at TESU it's cheaper overall. But if you just do the capstone, you get done faster but pay more? Does that sound about right? Yeah UMPI may just be the better option. How do that fair with transferring in a previous degree?

Yeah, that's how pricing works at TESU. It's weird!

At UMPI, the GEC requirements will be waived and the electives filled by the prior degree. If she has any courses that work for the major, those will also be filled in. As with new UMPI students, she must take a minimum of 30 credits from UMPI. But she can still transfer in credits from Sophia/SDC if she has room to do so.

Maybe this is a case for a non-MBA master's in management, like UMPI's MAOM, WGU's MSML, or Illinois' MSM (and the latter two can be laddered to that school's MBA).

@IceSparkle, it's great you're looking out for your sister... Did one of your family members complete a degree from UMPI? It really depends on each individual and their scenario. There are so many variables in play and you'll get swayed in all directions... You really need to fill in the addendum and template to give us the full overview and picture of what that situation is. Without much details, it's like asking for a second coffee without telling us what you want in the coffee.
