History Bachelors...TESU or Exelsior???
#1
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone if there are any differences between the history degree at Excelsior and TESU???  Cost seems to be similar, just wondering if there is something more advantageous of one over the other??

I haven't taken the time to map out an Excelsior BS in History and see how the requirements compare, but one advantage of TESU is that people here are much more familiar with how things work there and can provide better help.

EC requires:

US History I or II AND World History I or II - easy to find
US History area courses (2 intermediate & UL courses) - maybe Study.com's 2 Civil War courses, if EC counts one as intermediate
European History (2 int & UL courses) - maybe Study.com's WWII/Holocaust course, and HIS-301: Eastern European Jewish Immigration and Settlement in the US (both UL)
Non-Western/World History (2 Int & UL courses) - History of the Soviet Union (UL DSST) & World Conflicts Since 1900 (UL UExcel)
History Electives - Study.com's 2 Vietnam courses
Capstone (UL)

You'd need a few additional UL courses which are easy enough to find (don't need to be history).

TESU's degree requires Historiography, which isn't available via alternative credit at this point.

I think EC would be your best bet right now, and I think they're cheaper than TESU by a few hundred bucks.
