As far as I'm aware, both Portage and TEL are 100% self-paced. No deadlines. Except that you need to be done with the class within 6-12 months of purchase.
These are things that you cannot get from a standard school. If you get financial aid to pay for NMJC or similar but you wind up having to put the baby in daycare to do the schoolwork, it'll cost more out of pocket than just doing Portage/TEL on your own timeline.

@maebak2skl, Welcome to the board, you can always go for the Pierpont BOG AAS with an emphasis in a Health related discipline or something different. Since you're going that route, when you ladder into the TESU BSNA (Accelerated Nursing) option, the required science courses will give you an extra ASNSM Biology. The requirements 'can' be the same as the AAS Health Studies pathway, except there is no need for a capstone. It really depends how you want to play your cards and what you need/want...
