Hey everyone, I'm looking into UMPI. I have accumulated 102 credits from two different colleges and wanted to pursue a degree in marketing. I would like to know my options given that most of my credits are focused on psychology/criminology. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@nyk0532, Welcome to the board, nice introduction and template, but you've missed the more important info in the addendum. Please update us with the info asked for in the addendum. Have you looked at the WIKI plans already available? Your best option is to apply, get the credits transferred and see what else is remaining. You can do the UMPI BABA Marketing, there is already a plan on the WIKI, another option is to do a BLS to max the transfer of your credits, you can get a different minor added if you wanted something different such as Accounting, Management, Project Management, MIS...

Thank you for your reply. I have added the additional information below:
Budget: Around $5000, my budget is a little tight at the moment so the least expensive route would be the most desirable for me
Commitments: Full time employment and I'm also a father of 2
Dedicated time to study: Maybe about 10-15 hours a week
Timeline: ASAP. I would like to finish as quickly as possible
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: My job offers $4000 in tuition reimbursement
I have not looked through the WIKI as of yet, but plan on doing so in the coming days. I just wanted to get some feedback on the best course of action. Thank you.

Your best bet is to do the trifecta that I usually recommend of certs, degree, experience, you can take the Coursera/Edx and other cheapies or freebies on the WIKI, some even grant ACE credit towards your degree. So, what that means is, you have some experience since you're already in your 30's, these certs will add to that trifecta and those credits can be used towards the degree. You then finish UMPI with a BLS with any minor you want, plus 3-4 classes that go towards the UMPI MAOL, you can get all the above done and it'll be within budget (practically free as it'll only be roughly 2 sessions plus extra fees you use to take alternative credit classes).
This is what you end up with, several industry recognized certs, UMPI AALS (all your previous credits, plus the residency credits you will be taking will complete the degree, don't do anything, just add this as a second degree program), UMPI BLS with a minor or two of your choice, plus take the 3-4 classes that exempt you 3 classes for the MAOL if you go that route, you need these anyways to finish off the UMPI degree residency requirements as each minor is 18 credits, you need 30 residency.
If you want to play things differently and need a BAS (Applied Science instead of a BLS - Liberal Studies), then you can also get the Pierpont BOG AAS for $130 + cost of transcripts. You have all the credits needed to complete that degree, just apply, pay, graduate... Cheapies/Freebies, such as Coursera, TEEX, etc Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fr..._of_Credit
There are several UMPI degree plans, the BAS and BLS will take the most of your transfer credits as 62 can be electives, the other 40 are general education, and then it has a minor of 18 credits. The other BA or BABA only allows about 21 credits for electives. UMPI plans, such as the BLS minors: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:UMPI

It's for my college fund, what else!? Just kidding, they started implementing that fee as a "New Student Fee" for anyone starting at Pierpont for Fall 2023. Everyone, not just people doing the Pierpont BOG AAS degree, so any new student will have this... They should anyways, too many people are taking advantage of the BOG AAS for the cost of transcripts and they're losing a lot of revenue and people/staff resources as so many new students are going for the cheapest BOG AAS there is, here's a thread: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...BOG-Degree

Thanks for the update! I was willing to pay when I received mine and was surprised it was FREE. And $130 is a steal, even if no longer free.
