Budget: My budget is between $6,000 to $7,000. I prefer the most cost-effective option, though I'm open to spending more if it ensures ease and speed.
Commitments: I work remotely as a Programmer and spend most of my time at home, allowing me the flexibility to study as needed.
Dedicated Study Time: I can dedicate a minimum of 4-5 hours per day to studying, with a goal to complete my studies more quickly.
Timeline: If possible, my aim is to complete the degree by June 2024.
Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement: I don't currently have this, but I'm considering applying for loans.


Hello everyone, I'm seeking advice on my degree path. After researching various online universities, I found TESU appealing. However, I admit my knowledge of degree plans, including whether TESU is the best fit for me, is limited. Despite reading many posts and gaining some insights, I still have several questions. I'm not really sure if I'm approaching this in the correct way.

I subscribed to Sophia a month ago and have been completing as many classes as possible. I'm following the BSBA CIS Double Degree Plan outlined in the wiki, as I'm unsure about the current relevance of the BACS Degree Plan. Additionally, I've learned that I need 30 RA credits. As a European citizen, I'm considering enrolling in courses at Metropolia University to fulfill these, especially for elective requirements.

My question is: Would it be quicker to complete elective courses with Metropolia, and general education courses through Sophia/Study.com? Also, can Metropolia courses count towards the CS electives? I'm a bit unclear about how this process works. If there's any additional information required, please let me know.

@JohnnyBazzinga, Welcome to the board, you can do a mix/match of LevelUP and Rachel83AZ's BACS/BS-CIS combo... You can do exactly what you mentioned, Sophia.org for gen eds/electives and Metropolia for transferable classes, you can also add to that the $1 USD Coursera month worth of ACE credits. Do a search and create a spreadsheet for yourself, link us to that from your google or one drive and also make sure to have it viewable and not set to editable.

Possibly, yes. It really boils down to the individual student.

Maybe. It depends on how the evaluated courses come in and if they're counted as UL or LL. Unfortunately, the evaluators aren't exactly transparent or consistent. Another student being able to do this isn't necessarily an indicator that you'll be able to do it. It's frustrating. Get the Metropolia courses out of the way first so that you know what else is needed.

If nothing else, they can be used in the general electives and that's not a waste.

I recommend Purdue Global (BS IT) and Metropolia, both are great for your case

Decide for yourself how to proceed first (degree/institution), I would do the $1 Coursera cheapies first for your ACE credit, you have until Nov 24 to sign up as per my previous post here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...pt-21-2023 - Once that is done or your month ends, you can do the Metropolia and Sophia.org to complete the remaining lower level credits to transfer into an institution of your choice. The main thing is, max transfer of credit into the program before you begin that program...

I've made some progress after being away for a month. I just finished my second month in Sophia, and have taken 79 credits. And I also signed up at Metropolia, taking about 49 ECTS. Additionally, I completed some courses on Coursera.

I can't help planning your degree, but I just wanted to make it a point to mention that I think it is so great how many credits you have completed in such a short amount of time! Way to go, congratulations! Keep on going with that kind of momentum and you will have your degree in no time! I bet you are just a few additional Gen Ed courses, a couple of Upper Level CS classes and the Capstone away from completion!

Well, for starters, you're missing the English Comp II from Sophia.org if you only did one of them... Essentially, again, you want to cross reference what you have done with what the two templates on the WIKI show for the BACS/CIS combo look like... put all the Sophia.org and Coursera credits in first, leave the Metropolia classes for now, apply to TESU and get an evaluation completed.

If you only did one English Comp at Sophia, I'd honestly recommend doing English Comp II as a TECEP instead. It costs a bit more, but likely save a lot of time/hassle that way.

Hello again, community, after several months, I managed to complete more courses. However, after sending my transcripts to TESU, I encountered a problem. I sent my ACE transcript through Credly, which included 40 courses. I completed almost all the courses listed in the wiki for the Computer Science Degree.
Five days after submitting, I checked the My Progress tab and noticed that only some of the courses had been transferred. I am unsure if this is because I had over 40 courses in Credly and they only transferred up to 90 credits.
I reached out to support, and Mr. Michael D. Sheridan, Senior Academic Evaluator, informed me that the evaluation was completed yesterday (27th). He mentioned I would receive an email with the results, but I still haven't received it. When I requested him to resend the email, he closed the ticket, advising me to access the information through my MyProgress account.
I am at a loss as to what to do next. In my Computer Science program plan, I have 76 credits completed, but it should be more. Whom should I contact to address this issue, and should I specify which courses need to be transferred?
