Hi all,
I am struggling studying for this exam because I have relied on IC's flashcards for each CLEP I have taken and now they don't have a set for this topic. Do I need to know who did what as far as the history goes, or just the major events? Any help would be appreciated. I ran through the specific feedback and am still unsure of the best way to study that will most resemble what I'll see on the actual test.
Thank you.

I haven't taken the exam. I did a bit of research over a year ago so I'm a bit rusty. If I remember correctly the review materials covered a lot of topics world and U.S History plus all types of social science questions. My local library had a review book available which helped me determine that it was too broad a subject matter for me to attempt at that time.

I had taken Intro to Sociology and Intro to Psychology just before this exam so I did a quick review of those flashcards and a slightly less quick review of all the history flashcards and I got a 66 on this one. I also used Peterson practice test. If you are really a IC addict I think you can do this.

What I do with CLEP exams is read all the flashcards on Quizlet and go over all the answers on the official study guide. I have this book (it was like $20) with a practice for each test. I just fill in the answers from the back and read them like flash cards.
Takes like an hour for each exam and I usually get between a 55 and 70.

I took the Social science and History CLEP Monday it is the first CLEP I have ever failed 49....ouch I have never studied for a CLEP and this test was pretty easy Just don't waste time on questions are long skip them and answer all the questions... I spent time looking at graphs and over analyzing questions. I had to answer 10 questions without reading them.... Manage your time and you should be fine...

Hello - my first post.
Found this thread and though it made sense to post in here rather than start a new one.
Am planning on doing the CLEP Social Science & History test in the next two weeks. I have taken the REA practice test and scored 52 out of 84 without any study. At the beginning of this year, I completed the Praxis II Elementary Education Social Studies test scoring a 189 (I think out of 200) FWIW.
I have some Peterson practice stuff and was wondering if anyone had any tips. I'm not American so there are some gaps in US Government & History knowledge plus my understanding of the economics questions is ropey to say the least.
