Has anyone used Study.com to study for TECEP?
#1
It looks like there are several different TECEP preparation courses on Study.com, and I'm curious to know if anyone here has used them to study for TECEPs?  If so, how closely related was the study material to the actual TECEP?

Thanks for any insights you can offer!

My brother studied for the Abnormal Psych tecep with Study.com, completing all the quizzes, and chapter tests. He also had the recommended textbook, but said he relied mostly on study.com. He just barely passed the exam and felt he should have spent a lot more time in the textbook. Nevertheless, study.com is why he made the grade, so it was pretty decent, just shouldn't be solely relied on for that exam. The main difference he mentioned is that Study.com's questions are much more straightforward, whereas the tecep question are worded tricky, and more specific.

I haven't done that but I may do it in the future. The way I plan to is to watch the videos on study.com and then use the book that the syllabus was based on to look up and review items mentioned on the syllabus. The actual textbook and not the free resources the newer syllabuses are referencing.

I have done the same thing for Uexcel exams but not TECEP exams. I know that those are not the same thing but hopefully that's slightly helpful. It worked well for me especially to gain a solid understanding of the subject. I find that study.com videos are very memoriable. I would agree with keepsingin that it probably ins't a good guarantee as a sole source. I especially would not use the study.com final practice quiz to guage your proficiency because those are usually even easier than the rest of the study.com course in my opinion.

I've used Study.com only to study for the TECEPs Medical Terminology and Biology of Nutrition. I passed with 85% and 83% so they're really closely aligned. Wish I'd started using Study.com in this way sooner.
