January courses count for grad degress. The challenge lies in finding a course that fulfills a requirement for your degree. For Information Technology, the last time I checked, there was only one course offered that would be counted. However, you can always ask for a waiver to take a course that would not normally be counted.

It's Liberal Arts, Legal Studies is the concentration. Sorry if I was not clear before.

Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

The link you provided, for those interested, takes you to all the degrees- if you pan down to the bottom, click on the "Degree Requirements" in the body of the text to get to the worksheets / pdf docs. (It can be tricky to find) But then pan down again to each link titled "worksheets" and you'll see a real list.

Rebel100,
Is there more information on this website (or any other) that gives more input about what the Harvard Extension online courses are like?
I see that many of their graduate courses have a writing test or expository writing requirement. They say that their courses are extremely rigorous. I'd like to read a first hand account of what its like. Perhaps your daughter can give some input?
rebel100 Wrote:Harvard has begun allowing what it terms "hybrid" courses to satisfy the 8 credits for an AA and 16 credits it requires for a BA.
These hybrid courses meet online like their regular cyber offerings then feature (typically) a 3 day "residency" in Cambridge. Each course generally qualifies for 4 credits. Several business courses are already being offered this way and one interesting offering this semester was "the future of warfare".
The 3 week January semesters are being bolstered by 3 week offerings in the summer. And, of course, you can still satisfy the residency by taking classes in person during the regular semester.
My daughter took a 1 week residence satisfying course (4 credits) this past January. In it she has ample time to network with fellow students, heard a Supreme Court justice speak, and got to meet several well known media and political figures.
It's getting easier to get a degree from the extension school than ever! Applying for internships, my daughter is learning that the Harvard brand, even as it applied to extension students, is respected and highly thought of. As I write this she is in an interview for a summer position at a well respected media company...they called her about 90 minutes afte receiving her application...that's never once happened to me!

You might look at extensionstudent.com (an unofficial webboard for HES students), and reviews of individual HES instructors at ratemyprofessors.com. As always, take these sources with grains of salt! Also, these will commingle discussions from online and on-campus students; often HES courses offered on-campus are also offered simultaneously online, with the same instructor, the same lectures, and same or mostly the same assessments.
So far, I've only taken HES courses on-campus that haven't had the online option, so I can't speak to HES online courses from personal experience.
