Thank you so much! Heart

I'm taking a business class on Sophia.org and need help. For every milestone i missed 1/3 of the test. Can anyone give me some advise on how to score higher? How can i improve my test scores? Heart

The milestones are open book. Have a second monitor with the PDF open so that you can search it while you take the test. If you can't get a second monitor, use a phone or a tablet to display the PDF. Also, always make sure that you take the practice milestone.

agreeing with open book and take the practices first

mild variation of the other advice: I didn't have second monitor and tablet was too small. So same idea but with a twist: had a tab open on the PDF and toggled between them as needed. and on a few things I kept the tab open for the pdf of the practice. I think that was allowed with open books/notes.

I just keep all of the PDF's open on my screen. There's one for each unit. You can download them also.

This might be the same thing you do ss20ts?  I use a split screen with the Milestone on one half of my screen and the PDF on the other, both open (poor man's version of having 2 screens, ha).  To prepare for the Milestone it IS really helpful to have read the material and also to answer all three questions on each section if the subject isn't one you are familiar with.  For the Final, I combine the PDFs so I only have to deal with one PDF to access the information and don't have to go back and forth between all of them (which gives me a terrible computer headache).  Sometimes, all I have to do is slow down.  I hate tests but, really, there is plenty of time given for the Milestones, don't rush.  The most irritating wrong answers I get are usually because I skimmed the question instead of really reading it, and missed "the choose the one that DOESN'T..."  and answered too quickly the opposite way.  I would love to give credit to the post-er who counseled just to shake it off if there is a question or two that you just can't answer.  That advice helped me.  Also, Sophia has a retake policy and they are really easy to work with if it comes to that.

I just have multiple tabs open or the pdfs minimized and full screen them when I need something. I definitely recommend answering all 3 of the questions throughout the Challenges and completing the Practice Milestone. If it's math, write it all out like high school. It helps! If I don't know the answer I go to the next question and come back to the one's I didn't know after I finish all of the others. I agree that most I miss are because I'm reading to fast and not catching all of the words.

I'm with Rachel. A second monitor was basically mandatory for me. It's worth 10x the price of the monitor for the luxury of being able to read the textbook or whatever while looking at the question, instead of clicking around like a crazy person. That would stress me out and make me go completely nuts.

I keep forgetting that this is a thing. I only learned about it recently and it would've been really good to know during the period when I was doing Sophia without access to a second monitor!

For those who aren't aware, with Windows you can press the Win key + left or right arrow keys to send a window to the left or right half of your screen. If you can't get a second monitor or it will take a while to arrive, you could use this trick to at least avoid having to click around crazily to find what you need.
