Guess what I did yesterday?

Guess what I did yesterday? I dissected a cat
My Anatomy and Physiology class at Ocean is awesome, and it requires doing labs at home- you have to buy this kit of supplies plus a microscpe, slides, organs, animals! Anyway, I had to do the cat yesterday and I'm doing a sheep's brain this weekend. I knew all that practice cutting up meat and fish would come in handy some day! hilarious

Don't worry too much about the cat. I'm told it's got 8 more lives left...hopefully they're not around your other classmates.

That sounds interesting, how do you like the class so far?

In a related note, has anyone seen my cat? He was last reported to be in Illinois somewhere. Oh well, I'm sure he'll show up soon..................

Ocean County College has a pretty good Rep around here.(I'm alittle prejudice my brother-in-law is an adjunt there). What other courses do they offer with labs? It might be fun to try one. I am really weak in the biology area.

I hope you, your children and your computer are all feeling better.

Ok, two things did they start registration yet for the quick term coming up in December ?
Second, If i took that cat home and cut it up my kids would never sleep again. Specially since we lost our cat about 6 months ago and I have to keep telling them that she is out in the backyard hiding. Its only a matter of time before they hate me for that lie. Big Grin

I haven't done that since High School. But, in a couple of weeks, my Korean Soldiers are taking me to eat at a nice restaurant where the main meal is Dog.
We'll see how that goes. It's supposed to be pretty good.

lol, you guys are great!

the college link is Ocean County College

Here is a list of their distance learning courses, as to which have labs- they say if they do. It's not cheap, so while this is my FIRST choice for online science labs, it wouldn't be my first choice for generic lower level courses. Also, only the ones that specify proctor require proctored tests. My A&P does not. Registration for the quick term starts next week I think, but don't quote me. That's when registration starts for spring, so I'm just estimating. The classes I am taking are in red.

That is a course I might be interested in. I started out in nursing school and somehow managed to pass Anatomy. I was not a very good student back then. I took Microbiology, but failed it might be interesting to try again.
How did your other disection go? What was it again a brain??

I have not started micro yet Smile Sheep's brain - a little like working with cooked meat. I think the chemical makes it seem "pickled"

That is so cool! I actually go to OCC and I'm registered for the Bio class online next semester, which also has a home lab thingy. My parents were traumatized when I told them I'm getting a cat in the mail!

Unless I'm mistaken, the quick term already started.... Sad but registration is open for spring now...
