Graduate transfer credits
#1
Hi, Does anyone know if there are any programs such as Sophia, StraighterLine etc that offer Graduate courses with the possibility of being transferred into a school?

LawShelf has some graduate credits. Most graduate schools don't accept (many) graduate credits in transfer, even from other schools.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)

The closest thing you're likely to find are EdX master's partnerships. You get to take a few courses at reduced cost, which only count as credit if you then attend the partner's program.

NOTE: Many of the programs are VERY pricy. You have to sift through them to find ones that are actually discounted.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

I've never come across ACE credits that transfer into grad programs. I search like crazy last year and just didn't find any. Many grad programs are also very particular about transfer credit if they accept it at all. The edX programs seem to be the best option if you're looking at one of those schools that works with the program. If not, then they won't transfer.

@Aya, you need to know which degree/program/institution you want to finish from and take courses for transfer if they allow that. Without knowing your degree/goal, it's really hard to say what will/won't work for you. Your best bet actually is a freebie, ASU 15 credit grad cert, this will only work for 'business' or as electives. Another cheap option are the VESI classes if you're going for a degree at Amberton.

Speaking of the ASU freebie, do you have a post were you describe that course in greater detail? I was going to sign up for one of them last night because I saw they added a couple more. You just have to many posts to sift through easily LOL. Just a little busy at the moment powering through some SDC classes before Excelsior Fall 1 starts at end of month to retake my 2 failed courses.

Agreed, these generally only work for the MA Professional Development degree at Amberton.  How they work can be found in this older, but still applicable, thread - https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-graduated

Amberton is just an example and they're not even on VESI's list of partner schools, if it works for Amberton, it'll work for a few of these listed here even though the bulk will use these as CEU/PLU credits for teachers, a few will provide undergrad or graduate credit transfers: https://www.virtualeduc.com/online-colleges.php

In regards to the ASU freebie, I've not written anything much on them at all, here's the main thread for the program though, there may be other threads: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...00+million

You're right, Ambeton only takes those 3 credit VESI courses because they transfer as RA Grad credits (their MAPD is full of electives); if they were not transcribed by a RA school they would not take them. So even in this case of VESI, they would not be 'like' Sophia, StraighterLine etc (Alt Credits) - which is the OP's (@Aya) question.
