Govt. Update on Masks
#41
I'd like to make one more comment.  This is in regards to the allegation of "child abuse."  I think that the only people who might reasonably be suspected of child abuse (or at least using the child as a pawn in an adult struggle) are the parents of cute, little Novalee.  Clearly she didn't write that little speech of hers and just as clearly she was pushed out into the spotlight by her parents who are desperately seeking their own 15 minutes of fame.  It was just a sad display of how some adults use children as a means to an end and not an end in themselves.

And you ignored every point that I made and your one response was to take something that I said radically out of context.  Better to ignore a response, create a new thread, and post more inflammatory drivel rather than actually debating a point, right LevelUP?

This is a common tactic of theirs. Just look at the California election thread, and you'll see their reasoned and well-researched responses to me. EDIT: And it's why I put them on ignore, along with a few other members of this community.

In that thread, I said you and Ashir were right after I asked a question later on.

The whole thread was a poll, nothing more, nothing less.

If you want to live inside your own echo chamber, go right ahead.

1. Do you think Newsom should be removed from office?

2. If Newsom is removed from office, who should be governor?

You can vote no on the first and still vote on the second.

Surprised that many people would waste time picking a candidate, and be informed enough to know who the candidates are that they were picking.

Please point me to where you admitted you were wrong. EDIT: Or where you admitted explicitly we were right.

Haha, I love poorly written laws. 18©(1) of the statute she cites makes cutting a child illegal. There is no medical exception in the section, so, best I can tell, doing surgery on anyone under the age of 18 is illegal in Minnesota.

Also, she isn’t brave. She is brainwashed. When I was 9 I could also parrot the stupid ideas that my parents had. People said I was smart and precocious. I wasn’t. I was a stupid child. She is a child who doesn’t understand biology or politics.

And let’s be real, wearing a mask is not child abuse. When people argue things like that, it just makes them look ignorant. Now, killing students and teachers because you ban masks in schools, as has happened, is wrong. It is morally reprehensible. If you don’t want to have your child wear masks in school, homeschool them. OR get vaccinated, vaccinate your children at the first available opportunity, and help being part of the solution and stop being part of the problem.

I know, I know, LevelUP, you are going to post the same drivel about natural immunity and antibodies. I get it. We all get it. You think the government is bad and trying to kill you and your children. You think the Chinese created this disease and let it go in the world. You think that doctors fighting Covid are bad and that people who stormed the Capitol so that they could murder Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence and make Donald Trump a dictator were “tourists” and were good. You think that states like California and New York that subsidize red states with their exports of federal tax dollars are bad and that the red states that rely on federal subsidies to not go bankrupt are good and responsible. We get it. You have made your points. Over. And over. And over again. This is supposed to be a forum about education. Can we sort of, kind of stick mostly to that?
I used to get in so much trouble by my parents and grand parents because I had a very liberal mindset when they were always Pro-Red party. This was a significant thing for me. I always cared more about the actual issues, not what the news said. I wanted to read from the candidates and do my own resources. My brothers and my cousins parrot parents to this day. They have to get everything approved by parents. I want to have a kid, get mommy's approval I guess? It's my life, and I'm going to focus on what I want. If my family had their way, I would've refused blood products and died when I was 18 and needed a transfusion.

That's why my degree is from a state university and not YouTube University.

So kids can't have their own thoughts and feelings? So following your logic, a kid can't be transgender because they would have only gotten that idea from their parents or outside influences?

Kids not having their own thoughts and feelings is nowhere near the point I made, it's beyond a stretch. This isn't taking it out of context, this is making something up whole cloth.

It's silly to try to have these serious conversations with people who aren't interested in being serious. This is why I haven't and won't be engaging in the actual argument you're trying to stir up here about public health/safety measures.

Never once have I felt abused by the mask mandate forcing me to wear a mask 8 hours a day 5 days a week even though I'm vaccinated.

But you know who abused me? Threatened me? Anti-maskers.

Like the man who was twice my weight screeching at the top of his lungs because I asked him to wear a mask.

The same man who threw stuff, the same man who called me the anti-christ, b-word, and child killer. Me, the barely paid a living wage pleb, was the woman who was hurting his family and apparently ruining the country. He also threatened that this will be the last day on my job and soon I'll be feeling the wrath of satan (I thought I was the anti-christ but guess I got demoted :/ ).

I felt abused when the same man ran outside to his car and I had to lock the front door and remove the breastfeeding woman from the lobby so that when he came back with his fire arm, hopefully no one would get shot. The man that kept shaking the front door trying to get in and begging us to call the police on him. The same man and his family drove and parked their car in the middle of the road, laid on the horn and screamed that we're going to regret this.

And this man wasn't unique. This is one incident on top of hundreds I've had. This doesn't even include the covid-19 symptomatic clients that come in and refuse to wear a mask because it's their right. This doesn't include the THREE separate times covid-19 positive people came in, informed me they're positive, and refused to put on a mask because its their right.

They expose me and my family every day. I literally am afraid some of these people will come back to my place of work and commit an act of violence. That's abuse. That's living in fear. You know what they are? Selfish. That's its... self centered and full of hatred. Sad

Aaaaaaaaaaand that's what inspired me to earn my degree so I can get out of working in healthcare and do a job I love... far...far away from selfish, uncaring, dangerous people! Thanks... I guess?

Well, the teacher set the tone and these kids are too young to understand the potential ramifications.

No like perpetuating this pandemic because too many idiots refuse to be vaccinated or take precautions.  I have watched too many friends bury their loved ones due to COVID.  I am not interested in anyone’s politics or misinformation.
