Goal: BA or BS in CS or IT
#21
If you have a bachelor's degree already, you don't have to get another bachelor in CS or IT. Aim for a master's degree. There are tons of what's called in the UK "conversion master's degree". You are an economist, so I believe that a master's in Data Science will be a perfect step for you. If you strictly want CS or IT, they are fine too. Conversion degrees in the UK are meant for the people who don't have an undergraduate degree in the field.

Some providers, like upGrad, have affordable master degres from accredited UK universites, for $7,500 or so.

For a bachelor's degree at TESU, a maximum of 30 semester credit hours can be graduate-level. Up to 90 evaluated foreign semester credit hours can be accepted toward a bachelor's degree: https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...fer-Credit

As long as the foreign degree is evaluated as equivalent to a US bachelor's degree, you'll follow the "Second or Successive Baccalaureate Degree" policy: https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...of-Degrees

Other international student policies: https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...t-Policies

I´m almost ready with my bachelor´s transcripts / summary of courses translations, I´ll use:

http://www.qualificationcheck.com (to avoid having to send originals)
and
spantran.com

Spantran has a deal to send evaluations to CUNY SPS + 2 other institutions, so I´ll send it to TESU and SNHU or UMG.

After sending the foreign evaluation to TESU, when I´m accepted, that´s the moment I have to buy the TECEP for Medic Terminology to gain time, in order to be able to finish all the other pending courses in other institutions? Or after being accepted, I still have some time before having to start buy the TECEP?

Before you buy the Medical Terminology TECEP, you get 2 evaluations of your credits. If you're only sending in the one Bachelor's transcript, that's only one evaluation. If you sent in Bachelor's + another transcript, that could be 2 evaluations depending on whether or not the transcripts arrive within a day or two of one another.

You'll also have 1 year to enroll fully by taking a class or paying for a TECEP. We recommend doing it as early as possible so that you can send in your credits as they are completed. But it's not something that you have to do immediately at this point.

Did you already apply to TESU? I think TESU might wait for all transcripts you listed on the application to arrive before completing the evaluation. You could probably also email and ask them to wait on that evaluation.

TESU used to wait. These days, they MAY wait, but it seems like they usually do not. We have had multiple accounts of people saying during the application that they were going to send in 3 or 4 transcripts and then TESU triggering an evaluation after each transcript was received instead of actually waiting for them to arrive. In at least one or two cases, the last transcript to arrive was the one with the most credits. So the student wouldn't have been unable to continue with their studies if it weren't for the TECEP trick!

I haven´t applied yet.

I´ll send the bachelor+ graduate credits in one go with Spantran.

I already have 1 Saylor, and already passed 5 exams in SDC, I´ll pass the Computer Science 302: Systems analysis and design in the next 3 days, making it 6.

Plus, I also want to take 2 courses in ONU.

Now that I remember, as I´m international, I´ll have to take the TOEFL, so I´ll have to budget it.

Due to your budget constraints, it's fine to delay application for a bit if you have to. Just make sure that you apply by May. Catalog changes, if any, happen July 1st. The last catalog update was favorable to most students. If they do another update this year, it might be less favorable.

I created my Independent Learning Account in TESU, in order to "redeem my edX credit" from the Microbachelors in Computer Science Fundamentals as instructed by edX. I requested it on Monday, and it appeared today this way:

[Image: COS104-Microbachelors-Computer-Science-Fundamentals.jpg]

Those were 3 edx courses, that combined into this microbachelors. It costed me around USD$ 50.

Now, I haven´t seen any COS-104 in the catalog, so I don´t know which course would it replace.

I would guess it's just a basic CS elective.
