General education (UMPI VS SOPHIA)

You need a minimum of 40 GEC credits. Additionally the BLS requires 62 credits. Sophia classes are an easy and inexpensive way to fill up the slots. For many people Intro to Ethics is easier if they've completed Ancient Greek Philosophers first.

I signed up for American Government through Instacert but took the CLEP exam (passed with a 66) instead of the ICC, does that still transfer in?

For your lab science requirement, you're going to want either Chemistry 111L or Biology 101L from Study.com (if you do chemistry at Study.com, you'll need Human Biology from Sophia. If you do Biology from Sophia, you'll need either Chemistry or Environmental Science from Sophia).

For your foreign language, do you know any foreign languages? If so, take an ACTFL exam from LanguageTesting. If not, Spanish I from InstantCert is the way to go.

Thank you. You answered my question on where to go for the lab science requirement.
UMPI BA - Accounting (presently working on)
Sophia

University of Washington

If you have both Biology and Environmental Science from Sophia does that get you out of the lab from Study.com?  That would be great if it did.

No it does not. They each fill a different GEC requirement. There is no way to wave the lab science requirement.

Hello!  I'm accepted at UMPI, but since it starts July 3, do you recommend I just power through classes now and keep the July 3rd date, or go ahead and suspend it for 8 weeks? I have no idea how mnay I'm getting credit for, acceptance was today.  I'm wrapping up my last 2 clients in my business this week, and can't get fully out of my biz until this weekend.  But I came here originally to ask you, do you happen to have a similar list as above of preferred classes/location, but tailored for the BA Business Management Degree? Edited to add that they tell me they are very behind on transcript evaluations as well. Thank you!

Keep your start date! Your transcript evaluation will take a couple of weeks. The wiki has degree plans for the BABAs. This was just for the GEC. There are a few business courses on Sophia. Not a ton, but they should help you out if you haven't hit 90 transfer credits.

I am wondering myself.....
How many Sophia credits does UMPI take? Will they take all 90 credits just from Sophia?
Iam looking into Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration – Project Management Concentration or Bachelor of Liberal Studies - Project Management Minor via UMPI. Any input would be great.
