Hi,
ive looked at several diplomas there and nowhere is the overall GPA mentioned. Do you have this only on the official transcript? And how does this transcript looks like?
Im a bit afraid, because I plan to study after the UMPI BABA in Germany, going for a Master. They need the GPA of the whole study, to evaluate my grade and if im eligible to apply. I have no idea, how they handle all the "P" of the sophia.org courses, when they see the official transcript and if they maybe doubt the whole degree because of that.
Can anyone maybe share his transcript, how it looks? Or is there any other option to show the GPA?
Thanks
Philipp

Aside from Latin honors as a proxy, I've never seen a diploma mention GPA.

The transcript includes the GPA you've earned at UMPI. The GPA only includes UMPI courses. It's rare for a school to include transfer credit in your GPA. I've never seen a GPA on a diploma. That would be weird.

You will have to present the transcripts to get the exact number. In base to the marks that apear there you will get your general mark.
Probably you will present the degree diploma + transcript. The university will ask for a validation to the ministerkulturkonferenz, unless you have to apply for the international portal of all the country. Check the master you want to go and check the info. All is usually there.
Remember you need level b2 or C for studies given in german or the abitur.
In germany I have seen diplomas with more than one page and there appears the mark of your studies. I do not know how it is now.

Hi Kab,
okay - you definitely know the German system! Thanks a ton for your answer!
Since UMPI is Anabin accredited H+ and I'm a german citizen, they don't need to approve this through the Kulturministerkoferenz but through "Hochschulstart" for law, medicine and so on. Or, for universities and courses that are not part of "Hochschulstart", the university can do it by themself. At least, that's what they told me - as you know, in Germany every authority could tell you a different story.
And I already got the information, that a 4.0 bachelor's is converted into a 1,0 in Germany. My only worry is that they will be suspicious about the transfer credits and "P" on the transcript. In Germany, we don't have anything like this so I wonder, if this might put the whole degree

Hampshire College (a private liberal arts college in Massachusetts) only uses narrative evaluations instead of letter grades, and it has H+ status on Anabin.

But you said you wanted to make a Master degree, no?
For PhD my experience was to present the documents to the uni and they make them arrive to KMK or you already had an evaluation of KMK and present it at the moment of inscription (which was not given as an option, but accepted).
The one I knew was uniassist. I will check Hochschulstart. Thanks for the heads up.
On a note of UMPI...I see nearly zero problem with them and the German system, always that you stick with B.A. and/or B.Sc. When we go to BLS I have my doubts but somebody commented something in another threat about being bachelor of general studies in Germany and I even found a BLS in a university in the south ( with a long explanation of what it was BLS in the website of the university).
I will really like to do the B.Psychology with them. I nearly have all the psychology subjects done at SDC and similar but the problem is that in the online version Psy is not an option right now.
BABA, B.pol.Sc., B.English should be a sure bet in my eyes to be transferred to Germany. But as you said.. you never know. I will be careful on any bachelor of professional studies, my fear is that this one will not be accepted as university study in Germany.

This isn't related to a German masters degree, but I did have one American university request grades for my Study.com classes for graduate admissions. I simply requested that Study.com send them a transcript with the grade percentages rather than pass/fail marks so the receiving university could calculate cumulative GPA. It was no issue in that instance, anyway.

This is one reason I would not "rush" to finish ACE courses with just a pass. Especially if you're looking to go into a semi-competitive Masters later on. A few people have mentioned getting in by showing their ACE evaluated courses as % instead of just a pass, this allows the grad school to do a quick check and calculation.
