GMAT is so hard!!
#1
I've been preparing for over 6 months and still don't think I'll get a great score. I will be going for an online MBA because I want to keep my full time job. My options in the end with a not so good (perhaps) GMAT score might be Uni of Massachusetts (Lowell) and/or University of Houston.

Does anyone have any experience with online MBA programs at these schools? Should I consider something else. I'd really rather avoid a private school unless it has a a better reputation than these ones.

Thanks!

Did you look at SNHU? They have a MBA that is online with no GMAT. Also Plymouth State University has a MBA online with no GMAT.

I feel your pain. This is why I opted for a private school to do my MBA/MHA dual degree. I can't see myself doing the GMAT or GRE to get into school. I figure I'm willing to give them my money and my time and they can see my GPA in previous classes, as well as my experience. Do an interview and decide if I'm capable and a good candidate for their school, but my grades and credits should speak for themselves and they should say far more than any GMAT or GRE score. I also don't like the emphasis placed on SAT or ACT scores. Some people are just bad test takers, but brillant in every other category. This is pretty funny for someone who just finished their BS degree, almost entirely via exams! LOL! I just don't put much stock in standarized testing and I wish more schools would stop being too lazy to screen applicants personally. I truly think that is the only reason they use these tests. I wish you the best of luck with your GMAT and grad school.

And LSAT stuff, too.

Marianne, I have also noticed that schools do weigh the standardized tests very heavily. It is the single most important admissions factor in the two major Idaho colleges. I wasn't really complaining much though, because I test well. Big Grin

With GMAT its not as much testing you on your knowledge as much as making things unnecessarily confusing by making them extra tricky and on top of that you have an estimated time limit of 2 minutes per question if you want to complete the whole test, and on top of that you have to complete all 3 modules in one sitting. It's more of a time constraint and the total length of the test that is physically and psychologically intensive than the actual content of the test.
