Question on Transcripts

UMPI alumni here. My UMPI transcripts show a numeric score for my Sophia courses that I transferred in. The grades for every class transferred in is not included in my GPA. All of my transferred courses have a grade shown. I used Parchment for my Sophia courses.

Just an FYI but I did the parchment service for Sophia and SDC, confirmed that percentages were sent and was just informed by Jessica at UMPI that there is no way to place these numeric grades in their system on my transcript.

Here is her exact answer;

Unfortunately, We have no way of doing that in our system.  I'm not sure what the students were referring to but we do not put percentages on our transcripts. 


I am sorry for the confusion and the mis-information.  We will let Study.com and Sophia know how their courses appear when transferred to our transcripts.  

I'm not doubting that they did it for you, just letting others know that it appears they aren't willing to do it going forward, it's pass/fail only.

FYI On MY transcripts numeric grades are shown from Sophia. I also graduated last year and a lot has changed since then Jessica is also not the person who handles transcripts. I didn't ask for the numeric grades. That's how the Registrar processed my transcripts.

Yup, I totally believe you got numeric grades and was hoping for the same. Sadly, that is a change that I'm not super thrilled about. While the e-mail came from Jessica she was informed of the policy by the transfer office that processed the transcript. She used the term Transfer Office and not Registrar so if there is yet another office that processes things at the end of the day maybe I'll get a pleasant surprise at the end of all of this and the numeric grades will magically be there. Fingers crossed. If so I will submit an update.

Last year the Registrar himself processed my transcripts. That may be different now. Applications are no longer processed by UMPI and are instead processed by the U of M system. So that's where the transfer office may have come from - the U of M system. They've made a bunch of changes this year.
