French CLEP Exam
#1
Hi everyone, I'm very new to the forums and I've been looking through tons of threads to find the most info I can on the French CLEP exam. So, let me give a little background: I've taken 3 years of French in middle school, which was 9 years ago. I took French again in my sophomore year of college (Beginner-Intermediate level), and that was 2 years ago. I want to take the French CLEP this August, which is roughly 3 months from now. How can I prepare myself enough to get the full 12 credits (score of 59+)? I already have The Ultimate French Review and Practice book, and a few French Vocab/Conversation audiobooks. Is that enough? Sorry for the long message, but I'm freaking out 'cause so much credits are at stake!:ack:

Thanks guys!

Hopefully you are already aware of this, but I do not believe you will be granted 4 semesters of credit for a level 2 score due to the college credit you would have received from the course in your sophomore year. Depending on whether you took 1 semester or 2 semesters in your sophomore year, you have a chance of earning 6-9 additional foreign language credits.

The CLEP foreign language exams have two audio sections, so I would suggest finding some listening sources. Here are some sources that I found quite some time ago (I cannot guarantee the sites are still live):
Bonjour de France! (Apprendre le français)
Le Point du FLE (Le Point du FLE - Annuaire du français langue Ãtrangère - Apprendre le français - Learn French - Aprender francÃs - Französisch lernen)

TV5Monde: Le dictionnaire multifonctions (Le dictionnaire gratuit de TV5MONDE avec Mediadico : dÃfinitions, orthographe, synonymes, traduction)
University of Texas: Français interactif (Français interactif)

French Grammar Practice Exercises

check out these sites, I had to brush on my french, mostly grammar, for a contract I was involved. French is one of my native tongues, but have not properly spoken or written it in years, since I was 13 really, I am not 30. I speak slang mostly, like we've done with English.

Hi! I am taking the French CLEP in September 18 and I am freaking out. I have a private tutor that helps me with my french and I have Peterson‘s, Ultimate French Review and the French CLEP Exam guide. I only need a score of 50 to get 6 credits. Any tips? My vocabulary is limited but I do understand the basics. Im most worried about the listening part. Sad Help?

Turns out I only need 3 credits. With the French CLEP, do you get 6 or nothing? Not even 3?
