When you download the ebook from barnes and nobles make sure it's downloaded to library online and then from there go to the nook pc program, go to my library and click on the book you want to open.

I have a Sony Reader, and downloaded 9 of these books without any problems. Thanks for the link!

If you have a Nook, an iPad, iPhone, or Sony eReader, Kaplan is giving away an impressive list of titles now through January 10. The download links are here.

Also, if you don't have any of those specific eReaders, or would rather use a third party eReader (like Aldiko on the Android or the Microsoft Reader on PC or Windows Mobile platform phones) you can install the Sony reader on your PC, snag the books in ePub format and then transfer them to your device (phone, tablet-style reader, etc.) use them that way. You can also use programs like Calibre (a great, and rather powerful opensource eBook management software available for Windows, Mac, and Linux) to change it from ePub to any number of formats like mobi, as well.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

How do you open these books??? I also tried this on my Mac-- I downloaded the ebook app for Mac computer (not iphone or ipad) and then I downloaded the free Kaplan ebook. When I try to open it the screen on the ebook reader is blank. I can't seem to figure this out with Mac or PC. Am I missing something??? Any help would be appreciated!!!!
Were you able to get it to work from the info that wannabeit gave you? Let me know if you still need help.

HorseManiac- Thanks so much for checking! I was able to get the ebooks to work on my PC. However, my MacBook is another story. Barnes and Noble has an e-reader to download for a Mac--which I did. Then I downloaded 3 books and two of the 3 books that I downloaded are blank when I try to read them-- but one of them works. So I have no clue what is causing that??? I would rather have them on my Mac because it is a laptop and can sit in a chair and read it. Any Mac people out there have this similar experience?? Would the Calibre software that TMW mentioned work for this problem?

I just did this. I started from scratch, created a free account and got 27 books in under a half hour.
Here's what you do:
go to Barnes and Noble. Go into the Nook tab. You can click on the "download" button to download the reading software for your PC. Takes 5 minutes.
Then, open up and install the program. Takes 5 minutes.
Create a Nook account. This requires a credit/debit card as a security for the account. Nothing you're doing costs money- you have to do this step if you want the free books. Takes 5 minutes. Keep this tab open.
Tab 2: Go into the Kaplan list, copy an ISBN number. Enter it into the barnes and noble search box. The eReader book comes up (showing the price $0.00) and click "download now." Takes under 15 seconds.
Do this for every book you want.
They are now in your library.
When you are ready to read, go to your desktop icon for the Nook. Click on "my library" and look at all your lovely books Pick the one you want to read and enjoy on your computer!
:hurray: :hurray:
BTW, if you ever decide to buy a Nook, you can just read it on there since you already have the book AND you can use the "share" feature to share the books with other family members, but not sure how that works just yet.

I got a nook for christmas so that is what I downloaded mine to. Anyway, as far as the lend me feature that the nook has I'm pretty sure you get friends or family's email address. Then if you want to share a book you select their name/email address and it sends the book to their email box. I am under the impression that they can read it for 14 days and then it becomes unaccessible. I haven't tried this yet, but I think this is how it works.
Creative, - I have a pc so I'm not sure what you should do with your mac. Sorry! Hopefully someone who has a mac will be able to come along and help you. Or maybe you could try calling bn.com. I think the number is 1-800-THE-BOOK.

No, sorry, I'm not having that problem. I did find that I can't find the books when I open my ereader, then click file->open as the ereader instructs me to. Instead I have to click open->recent for it to find the books.
I'm very new to erader, etc so I have no idea how to fix any problems.
