CSM course as a math req
#11
Actually, I think it's a good ideal medium to couple the CSM Learn with the Sophia.org Math/Science classes to get the basics... I mean, even for a student who is not great with math, it'll help the student go at their pace, slowly, learning the concepts from each math course they take. It will build on the learning, helping them overcome that obstacle, plus, none of these are proctored, so even those with anxiety of tests can easily go at their pace and finish... Just need to make sure the institution will accept the courses.

Solidarity from a math-phobic person here...I have wanted to safeword out of Math ever since middle school. I only passed Algebra 1 in high school because my teacher gave our entire class an A. One reason I quit college over 30 years ago was because I couldn't pass math.

I bit the bullet and took Sophia's Stats class because I'm going to need it for whatever degree I get (I'm going to do something in social sciences). It was a miracle that I passed. I don't know how. That chapter on probability helped me because of all my casino trips (yay, roulette!)

I passed with a 77 and that was good enough for me. I am so relieved that I can continue with my education post-Pierpont.

@staceydiane, great work in getting the math credit done! It's your effort/persistence in getting the credit that did the trick... Keep on going with the social sciences studies of yours until you think you're done with the Bachelors of choice! Good luck, have fun!

I might end up taking CSM Learn anyway once I move to West Virginia, since it is free for folks who live there...just in case I need more math.
