An update in the cost situation I just got from staff from tamic:

Thanks so much for your email!  I am happy to assist you with this decision.  Please note there are some major differences between this BAAS-ORGL fully online program and traditional programs:
  • 7-week terms (which means deadlines come more quickly – refund, drop, withdraw)
  • Competency-based education (CBE), which means the timeframe for the course is driven by the student not the instructor (students must be very proactive, self-directed, and disciplined)
  • Graded on ABF scale, which means you must perform at 80% or higher on every aspect of every course in order to pass the course otherwise you fail and must repeat the course if it is a requirement
  • $750 flat-rate tuition per term regardless of how many (or few) courses you complete in a term
  • Acceleration opportunity – once you successfully complete the initial 2 courses you may move into another course (with conditions) as long as you are in by the 5th Friday and understand you must complete the course by the end of that 7-week term
If you haven’t yet visited our BAAS-ORGL website I encourage you to do so.  The FAQs may answer additional questions you have and you’ll be able to see the other CBE programs we offer in Health Services Administration and Public Safety as well as General Studies.
Residents of those Oklahoma counties that touch the Texas border are only charged the Texas-resident tuition of $750 per 7-week term.  If you are not in one of those counties you will be charged $750/term + $30 per credit hour, including any courses accelerated into (this would be $90 for a three-hour course).  This would come to $750 + $180 = $930 base cost per term. First-time registration fee of $60 is charged your first time to register and any term thereafter for which you needed to reapply to the university (sit out one long semester and you must reapply).
To apply to the university simply go TAMUC application for CBE.  Applications are being accepted for all upcoming terms: May, Summer II, and Fall.  Go to BAAS-ORGL website and scroll down to TERMS for all 2023 term dates.
If you have attended college(s) previously you will need to contact each school to have them send official transcript(s).  Once the transcripts have been evaluated and you’ve been accepted we will be able to see exactly how your transfer work applies to the degree. You can even upload unofficial transcripts here: Upload transcripts. They will not be evaluated until you have also applied.  We will use every course we can toward this degree, but keep in mind you will be subject to the Texas Core Curriculum which may require additional courses than what you took to satisfy the Oklahoma Core Curriculum (or general education requirements).  The only way to know for sure is to apply and send the transcript(s).

And that's why you filled in the remaining info in the addendum, as the budget, commitments, dedicated time to study will ultimately cause changes to your timeline. If you are within the same border counties, you're charged the $750 rate, if you're outside those, you're at $930. If you take two terms at $930, that's $1860 and 3 would be $2790. Two terms at UMPI is already $2800, you're going to finish at UMPI faster though... Again, you decide if that extra session/term is worth it or not. Both are Public/State systems and you should be fine with either, I would still recommend the TAMUC options as it's closer to you & more recognized in your area. So, are you 'touching' the Texas border?

Do not mess with this! You can end up in a mountain of trouble. Saving a few bucks isn't worth the risks. You can be expelled and prosecuted for this type of thing. I mean if one loves orange jumpsuits and bologna sandwiches, go for it. LOL If you apply for any financial aid at all, you could end up in serious trouble by lying about your address. Your driver's license isn't going to match up and where you actually reside such as receive mail, pay bills, receiving your paycheck, income tax filings, property taxes, etc. You've also now created a digital trail which can be used against you.

Seriously. I appreciate the frank response. I was kind of kidding but I won’t toy with the idea at all. I appreciate it.

You wouldn't believe some of things people on here that they do. It makes me wonder about us as a species and how we've lived this long. LOL

I will do more research now into which mba programs are recommended on this site and see if that has any impact on which program would be better to go with.
Looks like so far cost is about the same since Ill have extra session with tamcu.
And the extra session in Texas might just offset the benefit of the “recognizable college name”.

Also im getting the vibe over all TAMCU will be more difficult/time intensive.

It would be $750 per term, plus $30 per credit. Assuming two terms and 30 credits, it would be $750 x 2 + $30 x 30 = $2,400. This is actually less than the advertised $1,500 out-of-state tuition.

The chart in the wiki for comparing bachelors options often recommended on degree forum was excellent! I’m hoping to find more information about what MBA options are out there. Eneb keeps coming up but seems very convoluted. With high level sales being the end Career objective and some technical aptitude tied in I was hoping to see what options you guys might have or if there is another list of recommended masters or mba programs/ universities that I haven’t been able to find yet.

Overall I’m leaning towards tamuc for the bachelors even if it takes a little longer as the name recognition I think is key. However if there is a good name recognition mba I could lean on instead I may be more apt to take up umpi for the bachelors.

Thank you all!
