Hi guys.
So I'm taking my first ever CLEP test on tuesday and I'm running out of things to study/I'm sick of studying but I don't know if I'm ready yet. I'm taking the Intro to Sociology clep (I heard is pretty easy, but my school requires me getting a 55 to get the credit).
So far I took the REA test got a 66%.
1st Petersons- 78%
2nd Petersons- 74%
3rd Petersons- 78%
I need a 55 or higher on the actual test. From previous experience, am I ready??
Also, are Peterson's and REA difficulty similar to the actual test?
HELP!

Hey - I took the sociology CLEP a couple weeks ago. It was my first test, too. I was getting 80-85% on the peterson tests. I also did the tests on free-clep-prep.com. I can PM you some stuff I found helpful if you want. Someone very kindly sent me a practice exam and I would be happy to pass it on.
Have you taken statistics or psychology or any other research-intensive courses? There were a surprising number of questions on types of research, which kind of study or method would you use to eliminate bias or influence in x type of experiment, etc., and those were the hardest for me. I am taking a psychology class right now and if I had done the reading on research methods earlier that week I am sure I would have been all set, which was a bummer. But I got a 62, so it's all good.

If you score more than 70% on petersons then you are more than ready for the test. Good luck and don't worry!

Don't sweat it. On all of the DSST's/CLEP's i've taken it seems the first several questions i'm nervous and feel like I don't know anything. Then you settle down and start getting on a confidence building roll and before you know it you passed! Let us know the results.

Don't worry too much; it'll just make things worse on the real thing. One of the signs that you're ready to take the test is that you're tired of studying because there doesn't seem to be any new info. It happens to me all the time. Getting a 55 is not that hard, so shoot for something a lot higher than that. A 55 would only equate to a C, which stinks. Go higher! Try for mid-60s, at least. I haven't taken this test personally, but I've heard that it's easy and a bit like Psychology, which I took after studying for two weeks and obtained a 74. Don't underestimate yourself! A 55 means that you don't really know the material that well and you're just barely scraping by. But I do have a lot of experience with REA. They are AMAZING! Most of their p.t.'s are a little more difficult than the real thing or right on. Personally, I would try for a higher % than 60% to reassure myself. There's a whole 40% out there waiting for you to conquer it! Go for it! I've also never taken any Peterson's, but I've heard that they're more difficult than the real thing, so your scores are a good sign. Also, what are your % for Strong, Medium, and Weak with REA? Those really tell you what you need to work on. If you have mostly strong, a little medium, and a little weak: good sign. Mostly strong, a little medium: good sign. Mostly medium, a little strong, a little weak: okay sign. Mostly medium, a little weak: okay sign. Half medium, half weak: bad sign. Mostly weak, a mix of anything else: very bad sign.
Hope this helps! But don't stress this! You can do it!

I'm always glad to help a fellow tester out. :-) This is a great way to earn college credit and I love helping people get excited about it. I love it myself and am always excited to start a new subject.

I am taking Intro to Sociology on July 7th. I just passed Human Growth and Development today with a score of 58. I studied for about 7 days intermittently. Wondering if Sociology is easier or harder in comparison.
