Is the total cost really approx. 3k and what is the duration?Costs have raised from $200/course to.the current $300/course. Total the M.Ed is around $4000 for specializing in either Elementary or Secondary, and $5000 for specializing in both, potentially more if you do an internship semester at an IB school because it makes the degree longer and worth more credits. Scholarships aren't available to Master's students.
Also, I see some of these programs accept transfer credits. Anyone know very low cost courses in ed. or psych. I can take as transfer credit?
You can transfer in up to 18 credits but I haven't yet seen anyone who's transferred in anything to one of their Master's courses.
Maximum possible degree duration is 51 credits (including internship and double specialization), normal classes are 3 credits each, you can take 0-4 classes per term, terms are 8-10 weeks each depending on holidays etc. Normal completion time is 2 years I think.
As an example of the workload, class 1 week 1 term 1 contains 12 reading assignments, 1-2 forum assignments and 1 short paper (4-6 pages) in APA format. Most people can't do a full 4 classes per term and instead stick with 1-2.
