Will this class satisfy the BALS math requirement??

BUS-210 Quantitative Methods for Decision Makers

can be used to satisfy 3 credits of the general education Quantitative Literacy requirement, the general education Natural Sciences requirement, a Statistics requirement, the general education Intellectual or Practice Skills requirement, or as a general education elective.

either way I could use this as a Gen Ed elective but it would be FABULOUS if this could satisfy BALS req.

YES, it does!  If ALEKS isn't your flavor, then CSMLearn can be!  That's the only "Math" requirement in the BALS! 
In your quoted text above... It states can be used to satisfy 3 credits of the general education Quantitative Literacy requirement.  
You can also check TESU BALS link, there is no mention of math but Quantitative Literacy: https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/liberal-studies

Thanks! This is great news - I've been trying to get through the SDC TECEP one and it's rough. I think I've "got it" and then I get 20% on quizzes

I've never done anything in ALEKS but will check that out this weekend also - do you happen to know what ALEKS class would satisfy the Quantitative Literacy requirement?

@suzycupcake you can use college algebra or precalc to satisfy that requirement, though I wont recommend it
ALEKS is much more challenging than SDC, so if you are having a tough time on SDC, you will have a tough time on ALEKS as well.

CSM learn is tbe best choice for you...

The platform sounds awesome. I hope they come up with something that would fulfill the TESU BSBA College Algebra requirement. I don't need electives so I can't use the credits.

depends what your BSBA concentration is? The CSM Learn course does count as Quantitative Business Analysis at TESU. Then you could skip algebra and take statistics instead of algebra. I believe that meets your quantitative and math requirements. If this God send of a course (CSM) did not come along I would have taken Straighter line statistics. No easy pass but at least at Straighterline if you do well on your unit tests it gives you have a little wiggle room on the proctored final.   This mathphobe LOVES CSM! Welcome to modern learning theory! I actually look forward to logging into  the challenge of CSM everyday. Makes math fun(ish)!

My BSBA concentration is HR, but I thought the requirements were all the same regardless of concentration.

In another thread, it said that CSMLearn comes in at BUS-210 at TESU. That counts as the Statistics requirement, but not as College Algebra, right?

For BSBA, it can go the other way around. It’s the College Algebra or Quantitative Analysis requirement that the course counts for, or the Statistics option. So, depending on the person, you just need to pick the course you want to complete, any two, the CMS Learn and College Algebra or CMS Learn and Statistics... pick your poison...

Oh, interesting! I didn't realize you could use it for either so I'll definitely check it out then. I'm not as afraid of stats as I am of algebra, so I think I will try this.

This is a shout out for the amazingly fast turnaround from CMS Learn in helping me complete my Quantitative Literacy requirement at TESU.

After learning about CMSLearn here, I started the course last week and finished yesterday (Sunday). They verified my identity this morning and sent notice that I had officially completed their ACE-approved 3 unit course (which fulfills TESU's Quantitative Literacy requirement).

Shocked at the quick turnaround, I added the course to my ACE transcript. It took the good people at CMSLearn all of an hour to review and approve my ACE and the course I finished 24 hours ago is now on my transcript and has been sent to TESU.

Un-freaking-believable!

As they get more popular I'm sure the timeframe will extend but I am so appreciative and impressed, that I wanted to make sure people here know how fast it can be. Of course, don't hold it against them if your mileage varies but WOW on the fast turnaround. Oh, and the course was enjoyable too.

So if you need a Quantitative Lit course, don't hesitate to grab theirs. Bonus: It's $39 for 3 semester LL credits. Amazing.

A couple of questions and I need help.

1. A few other postings on this forum said, can't use CSM learn credits for the BSBA (requirement - College Algebra or Quantitative Business Analysis). It would only work as the (requirement - BUS 210 Quantitative Methods for Decision Makers or STA-201 Principles of Statistics). Has ANYONE confirmed from TESU or another source it came in as (College Algebra or Quantitative Business Analysis)?


2. I completed the CSMLearn and it came in as BUS-210 -Quantitative Skills Business under Stats column in TESU. Do I contact the TESU Registrar to request to move the course over to the (College Algebra or Quantitative Business Analysis) column OR what's the best approach?

btw: I have already completed Business Stats from SL, however I haven't sent the updated SL course to TESU.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback, help and general guidance from this community.

For what it's worth, I specifically asked my TESU advisor if I could use CSMLearn for the College Algebra/Quantitative Business Analysis requirement in the BSBA, and they said no, only Statistics/Quantitative Methods for Decision Makers.
