I highly disagree with AngeleP, between me and my wife we have completed 25 SL courses, I took about half of the Sophia Intro to religions and the SL was far easier.

It is strictly a matter of opinion/personal preference, what works for one may not for another. The person who asked the question really will not know which is best for them until they have taken classes at both. My opinion does not mean "do not take any classes with SL", as I have and will take more.

they keep sending my son reminders to finish his other classes...... we're just letting them go because his plate is full, but it's sure tempting to consider getting another one for free.

Previously in the thread it was attempted without success, but I was able to register him for many (he completed 1) but they sure act like he's enrolled in the remaining 7....

The problem here is that he's almost on summer break- and he's not fast. So, if it were "me" I'd just quick rock out the class and see if the credits counted- but it would be SO MUCH WORK for him to do it, and he's already nearly finished. If I sprung another class on him it wouldn't do well for his enthusiasm. (and it's only ACE credit, which he probably will never get a chance to use....) We are going to opt out- but I feel like it could maybe count.

Finished my free SOPHIA Intro Sociology earlier this week with a 90%. Loved the format -- I'm not naturally competitive except against my own scores, so the Challenges and Milestones were fun (and slightly stressful, lol). Now I just need to do the ID verification tomorrow.
Am already trying to decide if I should pay to take another course this summer (ie if it would benefit my degree plan). Too bad my CC won't accept the credits, I really feel that I learned so much more through this format than I did with the [boring] online CC classes I have taken where I basically paid the college to be able to homeschool myself.
