Thank You for the code. I got my son set up in English Composition. He is not exactly as thankful as I am, but it is exactly what we needed for our homeschool to finish up the school year! It really looks like a good course! I like the way that it is set up with the video instruction. Thanks!

I just got off the phone with TESC's express advising line. I was told that all the Sophia courses that are ACE approved will transfer into TESC as "CR" rather than a grade. Sophia's Statistics course will transfer in as STA-201. The lady I spoke to wouldn't give me specifics about what the other courses would transfer in as. I asked about replacing my statistics, and was told that I could use the Sophia statistics in my degree plan, pushing the previous statistics to "other courses", but the grade from the previous statistics course would still count for my overall G.P.A. even though it's not included in TESC's GPA. I'm not sure if there's really an advantage then for me to do that. I'm still leaning towards going to graduate school for a Masters in Social Entrepreneurship or an MBA program with a social entrepreneurship focus. Any thoughts on which of these would therefore be most useful to me? My credits are pretty much all in art or psych/socio/etc. I only need 1 more UL course, 2 free elective courses, and the capstone once I pass the TECEP I'm currently studying for.

1.) Statistics (replacing my low grade)
2.) Accounting
3.) Intro to business
4.) Macroeconomics
5.) Microeconomics
6.) Project management (Upper Level)

The statistics course is the only math class I didn't do well in, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to take again? If the graduate schools want a better grade, then I suppose it would be worth it. The advantage to project management is that it's upper level. Any thoughts on which course would be best for me to take?

Thanks!

Yes, I know I'm being indecisive... I need advice on this.

Looks like not all of the free courses are ACE approved:

"The American Council on Education’s (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT)Â has evaluated and recommended college credit for five of SOPHIA’s courses: College Algebra, Human Biology, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and Introduction to Statistics."
CLEP's and DSST's passed: Fund. of Counseling, Tech Writing, Here's to your Health, Intro to Computers, Analyzing and Interpreting Lit, Human Growth and Devel, Intro to Soc., Crim Just, Law Enforcement, Env. and Humanity, Astronomy.
Completed 2 PLA's through LearningCounts.org.
Completed Capstone at TESC.

The ACE website lists 15 courses as approved for credit:

I just saw that... so why does it have that quote (above) on the Sophia website?

Probably because so many places are crummy about updating their websites or forget what all they need to update. Personally, I'd trust ACE more since its database driven and probably regularly updated.

I signed up for Project Management. I'm wondering if this will count towards TESCs Strategic Management/Business Policy requirements. I'll have to make an appointment with my adviser to confirm. Unless someone beats me to it!
