Is there an online enrollment and just add my info and click away?
it says something about sponsoring agency and then NETC approval??
i am on active duty right now as well..??
please can someone reply to me, i want to take full advantage of this.
I do not have any association with FEMA right now so in order to take the courses do i just download the materials and then submit the final exam with no know association with this institute?
Here's the link. You don't need to be associated with FEMA to sign-up for the courses.

Because of these FEMA IS courses, I am one Math Clep General away from my AAS in Emergency Management from Clackamas College, OR. They take these FEMA courses at face credit value. They also require some EM experience which I have.
Great post!

Hey I have seen a lot talk about the FEMA credits. Is anyone going to UOP and know if they are taking them or have heard either way? I sent a request to UOP asking about it but have not heard back. Also I am sure this was stated in a earlier thread but how long would you say it takes to complete one FEMA course ?? Also can you take them without paying then just pay one time to get them all transcripted over... any help you guys can shine on this that would be great. I am down to my last 5 core classes and have a lot of electives I need to knock out

I am not sure about UOP, but I can knock out about 2 Fema courses a day easy. I am trying to get into TESC and I know they accept 40 of them. I just don't know which ones exactly. They have over 55 i think. I need 27 electives, so I will FEMA until my hearts content. Please let us know what you find out. With some schools you can ask fema to send them a transcript directly. Other schools, require you to pay frederick comm college for each credit to be transcripted and then sent to the school. If you look back through this thread, you will find all the info you need. Good Luck.

Let me make sure I understand this -
You take the classes online, then to get the credits you have to go through Fredericks College to have the transcript sent to Excelsior. These classes are free but you have to pay $60 per credit to get them transcript. So it will cost $180 for 3 credits - and DSST or Clep test cost about $75 per test for 3 credits.
How are these classes rated at Excelsior - Free electives?
I understand they will save time towards the degree, but where to they fit in for credit?

When I asked I was told "applied professional." What I've done is finish the "Professional Development Series" since it comes with a nice certificate and something I could put on my resume. That's seven credits sitting waiting. I agree with your assessment that CLEP and DSST's are a much better value on a per credit hour basis. It's just that when I had my previous transcripts evaluated I had some 4 credit hour courses. That messed up the divisible by threeness of what I had left to do. This way I'll just pay for the one or two credits to get me to the magic 120. Also if I run out of steam and get lazy I can just pay and get it over with...

Slightly off-topic:
The final exam page on the website requires a SSN or an alternate number obtained by faxing personal info (Birth certificate, US passport, etc...)
Would anyone know if non US Citizens can take the IS FEMA exams?
