Help with plan for SW, Human Services or related field
#1
Hi everyone - you have all been so helpful to me. I'm looking at which of the big three would be easiest and most helpful in pursuit of working in social services/child welfare or somewhere in there (anything but psych). Here is what I have completed:

Associate of Science in Human Services at Columbia College:
HUMS105 Intro to Human Service - 3
HUMS 250 Working to Individuals - 3
CISS170 Intro to Computer Info Systems - 3
ENGL111 English Comp 1 - 3
HUMS335 Working with Groups - 3
HUMS340 Working with Families - 3
ENGL112 English Comp 2 - 3
PHIL201 Intro to Western Philosophy - 3
HUMS345 Working with Communities - 3
PSYC101 General Psychology - 3
HUMS310 Military Case Work - 3
HUMS380 Substance Abuse - 3
ENGL123 Intro to Mythology - 3
HUMS390 Child Welfare - 3
SOCI218 Social Deviance - 3

Transfer Credits from a Community College which became part of my Associates
POLS101 Intro to Politics
ECE135 Family Dynamics
ECE130 Intro to Issues in ECE
CHEM 101 College Chem
ECE125 Health/Safety/Nutrition

Sophia (I'm still working on a bunch):
Human Biology - 3
Intro to Ethics - 3
Visual Communications - 3
Essentials of Managing Conflict - 1
Developing Effective Teams - 1

ALEKS:
College Algebra - 3

American Institute for Chartered...
Ethics and CPCU Code Code of Professional Conduct - 2

I'm trying to figure out the best fit for what I already have.

Thank you!

Tesu has a bachelors in human services. They are the only school in the big 3 that offer such a degree. You could apply and send all your transcripts and see what happens. Its only $50 to apply. So it wouldn't be too much money even if you decided not to go there. They do ask you to apply to their human services degree though. However, you can just apply as any major like liberal studies. Then just go under "what if" and see what happens for human services. You could just send you an actual college transcript for now since it is known where your Sophia credit would go.

Here are some ideas for TESUs BS Human Services that can found through various ACE:

A. Intervention
Most of the Coopersmith courses related to social work (ask first)

B. Theoretical
Developmental Psych (CLEP, Study.com, DSST)
Business Law (study.com, CLEP, SL)

C. Client Populations
Intercultural Comm (study.com)
Educational Pysch (CLEP, study.com)

D. Management
Principles of Management (study.com, davar, clep)
Leading Organizational Change (study.com)
lots of courses with the word "management" in the title (study.com or others but ask first)

I know this because of doing my own "what if" with the courses, I have done.

However, in your case a better option than TESU might be a bachelor's in Social Work from a University online. This might actually be cheaper than TESU, quicker and be less confusing to plan. Also a social work degree opens more doors. Plus you could get an MSW in just 1 year.

https://www.cswe.org/Accreditation/Direc...-Education
CSWE certified online BSWs.

There are like 20 schools. Look for ones that accept ACE and allow up to 90 credits transfer. These schools accept ACE and are Sophia partners and offer online BSWs.

Indiana Weslyn: https://indwes.sophia.org/
Liberty: https://liberty.sophia.org/
Brandman University: https://brandman.sophia.org/

These schools are on the list ACE list but that doesn't mean the Sophia courses would transfer:
Metropolitan State of Denver
Northern Arizona State
Northwestern State (Louisiana)
Salisbury University
Spring Abor University
University of Alaska Fairbanks
University of Arkansas Little Rock
