Even without FEMA, you can still complete the BSBA at TESC for less than $3,000!

There are a few different communications courses that are coded differently, but can be used for the managerial communications requirement. There is a chance they won't overlap. They can have the COM or MAN prefix. My requirement was fulfilled with COM-300. Managerial Communications is MAN-373.

Whoops, I actually just saw that info on another listing you'd posted that I saved (concerning that degree program specifically).

Thanks again!

Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

sanantone Wrote:I forgot to put the disclaimer in this thread that the degree can be made cheaper if you can complete several Straighterline courses in one month. It can also be made cheaper if you can earn 12 credits on the language CLEPs. There are just too many variables to assume that most people can complete several Straighterline courses in one month.

I, personally, have been avoiding Straighterline courses like the plague. I have issues with inattention and procrastination, so whenever I can avoid having to complete several assignments, I do.

Is Straighterline as many courses as you can do in a month for their standard price? Are they laid out in modules, or how does it work? I've been a bit apprehensive about them, exactly for the same reason you mention.

They've changed it to a monthly subscription where you pay $99 for the month and then can pay ~$49 per course to take each course for the 'basic' package. You can pay more for some of the courses to get added material & tutoring for it as well as an instructional contact which whom you can communicate about the material. If you can get the courses done in a month, you're good, but if not, you're paying another $99 for the next month. I believe there are also proctor fees now for the end of each course.

Disclaimer: I haven't touched SL outside of looking at their website over the last few years, I'm just going by what I can decipher on the site.

That makes me wonder if it's a reasonable idea, given that, as you said, you've got a month before the charges set in again. Even with that, though, it's still cheaper than a standard college classroom. Community college classes, though, are in the ballpark if one doesn't finish in a month. Having never taken a SL course, I wonder how feasible it is to finish a course in a month. If they're standard courses, that would be pretty darned accelerated -- maybe even too much if you're working, family, etc.

I think it depends a lot on the individual student. Some take months to complete a course, some just 2 weeks, maybe less. StraighterLine offers several coupon codes which helps bring the cost down. For your first enrollment, you can use a code to get $50 off the monthly fee. When registering for your second course (in the same month), use another code to get $20 off. If you're re-enrollling for the second month, use another code to get $50 off the monthly fee again. I haven't tried that, but a friend did it recently and save a bomb off the total cost. It may turn out to be cheaper than a CLEP or DSST, but again it depends on the speed of the individual.

So, does the obscenely stupid and excessive twenty business days for the evaluation start on the date they received the transcripts or the date that they email to say that they received the transcripts two weeks earlier? This wait is frustrating.

What is NFA under Free Electives? This plan would also work great under the Per Credit Tuition Plan, right?

Some NFA courses are ACE-approved for college credit. Q118, Q318, and Q137 are offered online for free.
