Can anyone point me out in the right direction, I'm looking for a independent English 101 (Regionally Accredited) course with no pre requisites for sign up, it seems like most courses require a satisfactory score on the ACT which I did not take or English 097 which is a developmental course and I rather just go straight into the English 101 course.

This might not answer your question directly, but I think there's a lot to be said for the
TECEP examinations English Composition I and II. There are no prerequisites to sit them. Cost is $99 each, plus any proctoring fee from an approved test center, often a local library. Success in each results in a pass ("CR") in 3 semester hours transcripted by Thomas Edison State College. Transcript fees are extra but small.
The TECEPs in composition are entirely performance-based, paper and pencil, with no multiple-choice questions: In response to prompts, candidates write. Candidates can bring a writing handbook
and a dictionary or other permissible spelling aid.

If an exam is ok for this, also take a look at the English UExcel test. Go to
UExcel | Credit-by-Examination.

U of Arkansas Independent study states you need the accuplacer or ACT.....but when my daughter took the college algebra they just waived that requirement after a phone call
UAF Correspondence Course Offerings
CSU Pueblo is another one that shouldn't require any score/pre-reqs despite what the net says.
English > Division of Continuing Education > Colorado State University-Pueblo
Just call them and convince them that you write well and can handle the class.
BYU and the CLEP College Comp are both good ideas.
Does your school accept Straighterline? They definitely don't have any score/pre-req requirement.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

What about Straighterline? I know they are not RA but if you plan to attend a partner college, you would get credit for the course. Some people on this forum have finished SL Eng Comp I in a day or 2.
Online English Course - Take English Composition for College Credit - StraighterLine If you use SL, just be sure to cancel your membership soon after you finish your course if you do not plan to take additional courses. Also, read their policies before paying for any courses.
Edit: sorry for the dupe. I must have been typing my response while Reb was typing his.

Thank you for all the helpful responses, it seems true that you can just sign up for the courses regardless of what the syllabus states about pre requirements.
I will go with U of Arkansas it's the cheapest option at $332.75, Idaho is Cheaper by a few dollars but they do not provide a true academic grade since their course is either a P or F.
