I'm interested in hearing from people about their experiences with Ed4Online / Ed4Credit.
They came to my attention through the Alternative Credit Project list of courses. I see the name popping up here and there on DF, but no reviews or details. It looks like a great deal of what they offer is also offered through lower cost, more well known (at least around here) sources, but I'm still curious, anyhow. They do not seem to be as transparent as some of the other options out there (SL, study.com, Sophia) about the assessment structure.
I'm most interested in knowing:
What is the nature of their learning materials? It appears they do not require additional textbook purchases like SL does. It appears videos are a large component, but are they the only material provided like study.com? The Ed4Credit requirements page lists Microsoft Office or a PPT viewer, so I'm assuming PPT's are part of the deal?
More importantly, what is the nature of the assignments? Just a final? Required modules (like Sophia/study.com)? More like SL is that there are quizzes, midterms, finals? ProctorU is listed on the Ed4Credit site as well, so I assume there is a proctored final. Are the assessments multiple choice or written? Is it like study.com where the structure is identical for each course and just the content/number of assignments changes by subject, or more variable like SL?
Any input would be GREATLY appreciated! I tried to do a "Request More Info" on their website but it kicks back an error (never particularly comforting when an online learning organization has web problems, lol).

Sent Ed4Online an inquiry on Monday. As of Friday, I still have yet to receive a reply. Their website leaves me with the impression that they are not as robust an organization as some of the other options out there, but I had at least hoped for an acknowledgment of my inquiry by now.
My interest was piqued because I'd like to knock out some more credits in info systems (took the CLEP IS exam cold and got a 78, figure it wouldn't take much for me to cover an MIS test), but the DSST is kind of a pain for me to take (only two test centers reasonably close that I know of and one has preset days/time that I can't make, so it's out).
The increased price of Ed4Online might have been justifiable if it simplifies my life. Also, I kind of like trying out some of the lesser used options for the sake of curiosity.
My curiosity is quickly waning.
My next question, I guess, is has anyone here used them at all? Probably should revisit finding a DSST center...

I have been wondering the same things. I was interested in taking Aging & Society because it's UL on the TESU-ACP chart, but it's really really hard to figure out how Ed4Online/ed4credit even works.

I see that they offer a 72 hour refund as long as you haven't taken any tests. I'm thinking of taking that shot and guinea-pigging it.
My concern, however, is if I can't get a reply from them pre-sale, I'm not sure what to expect once they have my money...

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Sorry, I never followed-up with them. It was mostly because my two inquiries went completely unanswered. That was a big red light for me. Sure, they have a 72hr refund, but...if I can't get an answer BEFORE they have my money, I'm concerned about how that refund process will go.
I really hope someone finds out what they're all about to share here, though. I'd really like to hear from one of their customers about the experience. If no one HERE is a customer, I don't really know where to even begin looking for reviews.

I am currently taking ed4Online's Managing Information Systems class, although I just started the course last week. I will let you all know how it goes.

That's awesome, I think they use ProctorU for their final exams. There's only a couple of other options for the MIS as a course, or the DSST exam.

I'd love to hear how it's going as well! Aging & Society is on my radar as a strong possibility in the next 2 weeks.
