ENEB Master Thread

Anki sounds like a lot of work to me, so I’m just wondering if it’s worth the time.

ChatGPT (and all language model AI software) has an extremely short "memory". After just a few messages to it, as few as 3 in some cases, it forgets what you were originally referencing and it will eventually start lying ("hallucinating") answers to you even though you told it to reference the PDF you uploaded. It will also skip a lot of details and sometimes will only load the first portion of the PDF.

The only real, current solution to this is to repeat the original question or re-send the original data to ChatGPT every single time you ask ChatGPT to give you an answer, or at least after every 3 messages or so.

Anki is spaced repetition flashcards. That function by itself is, in theory, far better than simply reviewing notes in a file whenever you "think" you've forgotten something.

However the main thing is when you create the notes with AnkiBrain, it will automatically repeat to ChatGPT that it needs to do this or that or it needs to reference your PDF. It can also read your whole PDF, then break it down into segments which don't skip any sections, unlike normal ChatGPT which will skip. So there is no hallucinating or lying from ChatGPT.

In short, I don't think you need to use Anki but I wouldn't use ChatGPT alone either.

Also, if you have no clue about the material you're learning, definitely use Anki or any other kind of memory aid. But if you already know most of the material, you might not need to bother.

People have learned this the hard way in the past. I'm an ENEB alumni from five years ago when the school expanded into the USA, so this is how I know.

The laws of Spain state the person doesn't need a previous degree to get a propio. You can legally get one with proof of prior college studies (an unfinished degree) or relevant work or volunteer history. ENEB has been known to drop the ball on actually asking people for proof of either of these.

Maybe I answered this before, but you don't need to have gone to college to get a work visa for Japan. Just go on one based off having documented work or volunteer experience in the field. A 5 year validity work visa is really nice but if you want to go just go on a normal 1 year one.

Does this also happen to paid access such as o1 or Scholar GPT?

For the limited amount of times I’ve used them, I don’t really come across “hallucination”. Rather, ChatGPT reads certain papers in a way normal person wouldn’t, which is slightly different from the “hallucination” issued you mentioned.

Also, I’ve heard from a Japanese immigration lawyer that all they care about is whether your diploma was issued by a university and whether it has the title “master” on it. I don’t know if the new law requiring Spanish propios (I mean propios taught in Spanish) to indicate “Master of Continued Education/Permenant Training” would change things though.

Yes. It happens to all language models on the market. My job until very recently was testing them specifically for stuff like hallucinations and "memory" span. Depending on how you use it you'll notice it less. They're also slowly getting better.

If they accept Isabel without a transcript then it sounds good. If they need a transcript, then ENEB certainly isn't a university, but I don't know how far they would really check that. When I went to Japan on a work visa, my company required me to submit my transcripts as well as the actual diploma to them, but I can't remember if that was an immigration rule or a company rule. I'll say it again though - I don't think Japanese Immigration is as strict or as thorough as most people believe.

That $20 new "academic verification" from ENEB they had up for sale during the Black Month sales? They sent out an Email saying the rollout is delayed but they hope to get it finished within the next 30 days.

Looks like the translation is:

According to the classification of Spain's education system, master's degrees are divided into two types: official master's degrees (Máster Oficial) and unofficial master's degrees (Máster Título Propio). Does the "Excellent Schools Bonus Program" under the highly-skilled talent visa support "unofficial master's degrees"?

Please send me your degree certificate, and we will provide a certification verification service for you. However, both Máster Oficial and Máster Título Propio are recognized as master's degrees.

It seems the requirement needs 10 years of experience or a bachelor's degree/higher, and past studies can count as experience according to that Japanese legal advice website you quoted and few other sites like this: 外国人ビザオフィス - Status of Residence “Engineer, Specialist in Humanities, Int. Quote:Have at least 10 years of work experience, including the period of majoring in a subject related to the relevant skill or knowledge at university or high school.

if thats really the case, I should probably be able to use my unfinished university transcript to (hopefully) support my ENEB/Isabel I diploma for the application after I finish the latter. Anw thanks for the info; it's really helpful and I appreciate it.  Smile

I don't know how or if they're accredited (I'm guessing not), but there is more to it than just buying the degree.

Replying to a 6 year old comment thinking it's still valid. It's been tested and the foreign credit evaluators show that ENEB can be valid alongside the UI1 diploma.

The 10 year work experience/bachelor’s degree requirement is for a normal work visa. What @nykorn found was referring to the HSP (Highly Skilled Professionals) visa. If you’re only going for a normal work visa, the master’s degree is irrelevant.

As far as I know, the HSP only requires a transcript if you have a double degree but it is unclear from your diploma.

What is “academic verification”? Is that credit transfer?

I just had a normal degree, no double.

During Black (Friday) Month ENEB sold a new thing called an online academic verification. There were no details but my assumption is it's going to be similar to how you can tell an employer to use a QR code to verify your Isabel diploma. ENEB continuously surprises me with its developments however.

Whoops, this sounds correct, I forgot certain specific fields are only a 3 year work experience requirement and not the normal 10 years.

I'm a bit surprised there are no diplomas for the advertised Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence and Master in Project Management. Is everyone not getting those? Their page said those are included with the Global MBA.

Why did someone just delete my comment asking about the included diplomas?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone gotten clarification about the separate diplomas? The main reason I applied for the Global MBA instead of the MBA + Master’s in Big Data and Business Intelligence was because the sales rep made it sound like the "Triple Masters" meant receiving three diplomas:
  1. MBA – Master of Business Administration
  2. Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence
  3. Master in Project Management
That’s why I signed up for the Global MBA.

Looking back at the website, it does seem to support this under the "YOUR GLOBAL MBA INCLUDES" section:
  • MBA – Master of Business Administration
  • Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence
  • Master in Project Management
  • Diploma of Specialization in Innovation and Project Management
  • Business Spanish Program Certificate
Then, just a few paragraphs below that, it says THREE DIPLOMAS:
"Upon completing your studies, you will be eligible to receive a double certification awarded by the European Business School of Barcelona, endorsed and certified by Universidad Isabel I:
- Global MBA
- Business Spanish Program Certificate (optional)
Additionally, you will obtain a Diploma of Specialization in Innovation and Project Management issued by the European Business School of Barcelona."

Does this mean the Global MBA encompasses the three master’s programs and the diploma, but we only get one digital certification (then pay for physical certification) that says “Global MBA”? Or do we actually receive separate diplomas for the MBA, Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence, and Master in Project Management?

Would love to hear if anyone has gotten clarity on this! Feel like I may have stomped my foot on this one...   Sad

I believe I have bad news for you.

The “three diplomas” they were referring to was
1. The Global MBA
2. Diploma for Business Spanish
3. Diploma of Specialization in Innovation and Project Management

That’s how I understood it, at least.
Judging from the exchanges others have had with ENEB, I think that’s that most probable case.

Thank you for this! I see a few others posting similar concerns after my post and so I'll provide an update.

I contacted ENEB directly and provided screenshots of my conversation with the representative. They apologized for the confusion and clarified that the 'three diplomas' statement referred to the content of the Global MBA, which covers MBA – Master of Business Administration, Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence, and Master in Project Management.

They have now updated my concentration to two streams: 1) MBA + Master in Big Data and Business Intelligence, and 2) Master in Project Management.

Regarding overlapping courses, I only need to submit one assignment for both streams, and they will update the other stream accordingly. I’ve received confirmation of this from a tutor from one of the courses via email, so I have it in writing in case any issues arise -- I hope not!    Sleepy

Having completed my BA at TESU in 2015, I then found more great information here in the early 2020s and started my MBA through ENEB, finally completing it this month. I recently applied, and was accepted, to the DBA program at Edgewood College. I live in Canada and thought I might have needed to complete some sort of validation but I sent my transcript and diploma directly and received my acceptance and offer this morning!
