ENEB Master Thread

- I do have a fourth way, but you'd have to private message me for that one.

I'll PM you in a moment, I want to know if that's the method or "same thing" I was thinking of...

msganti Wrote:Thank you guys for your responses. Unfortunately she is in another country (India) where online opportunities are a bit limited. She did some schooling while she was here (Pennfoster) but didn't finish.

What level did she study at with Penn Foster?

Highschool. I think she completed the core courses but didn't finish electives.

So if I recall correctly, this is for your daughter? I guess she didn't do her electives yet?  Even better!  Do the early college elective option: https://www.pennfoster.edu/high-school/a...ly-college  -  This is the option she wants, she can get an Associates from Penn Foster without extra work if she does this resourcefully. You need to do the following:

1) Get her to email her academic advising/advisor to get an evaluation completed for her High School Diploma, it'll show what courses she has completed and what needs to be done.
2) Reply to a new thread, we want to know what courses she has completed and yet to complete.  Get her to setup a Sophia.org account and get ready to take courses there.
3) Check with her which Associates she's interested in: https://www.pennfoster.edu/college/all-p...te-degrees

4) The kicker is, for both the Associates/High School diploma, they allow 75% transfer into the programs.  If she resourcefully uses the same 5 ACE courses from her "early college credits" and applies that to her Associates, she just needs to transfer in the 75% from Sophia.org and she's done!
5) If she wants to ladder up to a Bachelors later, she can take required courses from Sophia.org and take only 5 more courses at Penn Foster.  She can get either a BS Business Management or a BS Criminal Justice.
6) The final frontier is to complete the ENEB MBA & Masters, this will take some time, but she'll then be qualified to do so.

Note: She doesn't need to have the Bachelors in hand to get into the ENEB MBA & Masters, having the HS/Associates diplomas will be sufficient as she will indicate she's working towards a Bachelors. If you want to skip the BS at PF, you can!  She can complete over 90 credits with Sophia.org and add the X ACE credits she'll have from Penn Foster courses to show for it...

Thanks bjcheung77 - yes this is for my daughter. And your advice is the best. She's about 30 now, with twin boys aged 6 and having ADHD and recently going through a tough marriage. Helping her kids going through speech therapy and occupational therapy, she picked up an interest in those subjects and want to make it her career. So I am trying to help her in shortest pathways to reach there.

Hmmmm, that's interesting because the ACE route and getting a HS transcript parts are literally the same things I mentioned, just with different programs that honestly have better reach than Sophia and Penn Foster (not that I have any issues with either, just being factual about the comparison)...

There are some concerns to consider with BJ's advice (not that it's bad because it's not) with how it relates to your originally stated intent. The first thing is about the degrees from PFC: keep in mind that transfers need to match subjects and courses, schools can be and routinely are negatively creative with this aspect, so it's no guarantee that 75% scenario for the Associate degree and the other scenario for the Bachelor's outlined will work out as smoothly as it seems no matter what the education services claim beforehand. It rarely does. Worth a try, but go in with tempered expectations. It's also important for her to be sure that PFC will be accepted in India since degrees and credits that have been under the NA designation have at times encountered acceptance issues internationally. This is unlikely to happen with ACE credits though.

The second and most important thing is, your originally stated intent was for her to enroll into ENEB, so BJ's information is great for doing everything except enrolling into ENEB and will sidetrack her into a much longer journey toward that when just taking one college-level course from a program like SL or even Sophia, getting an ACE transcript, and then getting enrolled into a Bachelor's program or just simply taking the ACE transcript and going to ENEB and saying "Hi ENEB, here is my college credit transcript from ACE, I'm taking courses in pursuit of my Bachelor's this way, can I be admitted?" is likely all that's needed to accomplish your original intent without getting into high school diplomas, Associate degrees and such because that's likely to create a situation where she will have to climb a hill, a small one but still a hill, when all she may need to do is walk over a small bump to reach the destination of the original intent.

Call me crazy, but the path of least resistance just makes the best sense, especially considering the challenges you just spoke about her having.

In any case, whatever she chooses I wish her luck.

Thanks for the detailed response eLearner.
I think BJ is suggesting is to completing the high school (with some college credits) AND Associates at PFC, and PFC allows upto 75% transfer credits. And your approach is good too. I'll discuss with her and see what she sees better for her.

India does not recognize ANY 100% distance degrees (even if they are from Harvard), so at this point I am only thinking of a easy (or path of least resistance) degree (possibly in education/psychology related fields) at this time to align with her goals. I am not terribly worried about recognition in India because she'd be doing either private jobs or her own outfit where degree is more of a checklist.

Has anyone tried to use this degree on an application to sit for the CFP exam? I managed to rack up close to 150 hours without ever applying for graduation and now with an assortment of transcripts and having moved 3 times I would at the very least have to meet 30 hours or so of residency at a nearby school to graduate. I am almost done with the ENEB degree and wonder if it would work at least with ECE verification. It will take me another year to hit the 6,000 hours of experience required for the exam anyway, so if I have to pursue a Bachelors it will be a hassle, but doable.

Below is the requirement;

"CFP Board must receive an official electronic transcript showing conferral of a bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline from an accredited college or university. Accreditation must be recognized by U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree is awarded."

"International degrees may be substituted for a U.S. undergraduate degree if they receive bachelor’s degree equivalency from a third-party evaluation agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). You should request a document-by-document evaluation."

If you need a Bachelor's for the exam, the ECE eval should be fine.

@FatGuy, which one are you doing? The MBA only or the MBA & Masters? If MBA & Masters, which Masters have you decided on?

For those reading and to elaborate, the "document by document" actually means it should be course by course evaluation.

It would be fair to say that we don't know whether a "course by course" evaluation will get the same Bachelor's equivalency as a general evaluation from ECE. The other forum member did not do this type of evaluatiion. The U.S. credential evaluators land all over the place with Universidad Isabel I (ENEB) credentials. But they are most frequently seen as a legitimate source of earned college credit.

I remember reading on ECE's page that the evaluation is equal, regardless of the type of evaluation.

The following is probably of no use for most of you:
I came across a "regionally accredited institution" that accepts the ENEB degree for their DBA (18500 Euro). I sent them the Project Management  Masters, not MBA.
Triagon Academy is accredited and licensed by Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA).
Admission said DBA can be done entirely online, but their page mentions "combination of online and in person".

If you don't have a Bachelor's degree, you might run into issues when you go to graduate. ENEB expects a degree OR extensive work experience. A few people have managed to get past the initial screening, only to report that they couldn't have their degrees conferred until ENEB received proof of graduation with a Bachelor's degree.

I would suggest a Bachelor's degree from one of the Big 3 or UMPI.
  • UMPI - Requires 30 residency credits. But these can be completed relatively quickly/cheaply because it's a competency-based program. Requires a foreign language and a science-with-a-lab.
  • COSC - Requires 6 residency credits (capstone/cornerstone), 30 UL credits, science-with-a-lab. Cheapest of the non-competency-based degrees. Limited choice of degrees and relatively limited acceptance of alternate credits.
  • Excelsior - Requires 7 residency credits (capstone/cornerstone/info literacy), 30 UL credits. Accepts some NA credits. Decent acceptance of alternate credits. Limited choice of degrees.
  • TESU - Requires 6 residency credits (capstone/cornerstone) 12 or 15 UL credits. Decent acceptance of alternate credits. Wider choice of degrees than COSC or Excelsior. Most expensive option due to residency waiver cost.
COSC and TESU also require you to bring in at least 24 RA credits. Since you said you have 150 credits already, this shouldn't be a problem for you. I would suggest you head over to the degree planning section and make a post there with all of your credits. That way we can help you to find the right Bachelor's program for you.
