EMU union against online degrees

College Factual provides some performance stats based on key categories (e.g academics, student life & crime. EMU scores a C+ rating for crime with most of their issues centered around robbery. Unfortunately, browsing through even some of the most respected schools, there is an alarming number of instances with more harsh crimes.

I am going to have to adjust my view of Eastern. It has now been ten years since they tried to cover up a student murder. Maybe that is outside the statute of limitations.

I still don't think that this is a well-run university.

Eastern Michigan University already has many online programs and an extended campus, so I don't see how anyone can say that the faculty is objecting to online programs. They already have them. The objection is clearly to having a for-profit company take over their online programs and take half of the profits. To be honest, for-profit companies don't have the best track record in the higher education realm.
