ECE World Population

Hi Traffic,

I was feeling pretty confident, but you never know. Lots of ratios on my exam. Studied hard, but broader and more specific than expected. I got a B.

PS: One UL and a Math final to retake and I'm done!

Crystal, at least it's out of the way now.

I invested about 60 hrs. into preparation; usually thats enough for me to know the right answers even before I read them. I thought I'd get 90-95% and was very cocky, even wore my cowboy hat in the testing room.

My confidence evaporated after about 10 questions. I was like, "HUH? I don't even remember reading about this thing or that event." Especially history questions. Unfortunately, I forgot what they were by the time I got home since I had little interest in the subject then and even less now.

I got an A, but, damn, it was a close call @ 82%! Only a couple of questions away from B. I bought some shrimp, kim chee, and beer to celebrate.

I took up this exam because of the rumors regarding its ease on this board. Well, maybe it's easy to get a C (53%) after a few hours of reading a book diagonally; basic stuff just makes sense. But do not take this exam hoping for an easy A, like me! Only 4-6% of the takers got it; that's a bad curve. ECE grade cuts.

P.S. Only Oranizational Behavior left and I'm out! Is Org. Behavior easier than this test?

Congratulations on that "A" Traffic!!!

Yes, I'm glad it's over. They stopped us twenty minutes into the exam and shut down all the computers. After 10 minutes, they started everyone all over again. But we didn't lose time or answers, but maybe some focus. I need A's for scholarships, so this B was humbling for me, but you can't win them all.

Are you saying ECE Organizational Behavior is your last and next class? I'm considering that for my next and last class (except a Math final retake), but I don't know, material looks kinda of boring. I'm also considering Pathophysiology and Juvenille Delinquency. I only need an Arts and Sciences at this point.

Again, great job. Enjoy your celebration, until the next one.

Yeesh, I was thinking of taking this exam instead of Rise & Fall of the USSR. Maybe I should reconsider so I will have my IC safety blanket! :o

Rise and Fall was fascinating, but hard. Lots of video material available if you like to learn that way and plenty of resource material on this site.

You should consider Psychiatric Nursing- 8 hrs for $220.00. Very doable. I don't have a Nursing background, but I picked up an A and 8 hours.

Think about it.

Psychiatric Nursing will be one of my last exams, after my UL psychology exams. I was so stoked when I found out about it and was able to fill out a health focus with it. My library even has both of the recommended texts for it!

Unfortunately, I will still need one UL Arts & Sciences exam to to finish my degree and I already took Civil War. I thought that exam was much easier than Drug & Alcohol, but I also liked the content better and had more prior knowledge. Wink

Crystal, that's right, I only need less than 3 UL's to graduate. I'm thinking of taking ECE Psych. of Adulthood and Aging instead of OB. Many people got A's on PAA using only IC whereas OB requires some real studying, sounds like.

I know you've taken PAA, what's your thoughts on that one? Textbooks are $60+ each used on amazon, do you think thy are necessary?

Hi Traffic,

Good for you. You are so close. So am I, once I finish battling the evil Math monster! (I took note of your comments about CLEP Math and the Barrons book.) hilarious

Yes I did take PAA and I did use a text. I never just rely on one source because of the way I learn. I checked mine out of the Library and it was an older edition. I always get my books at Half.com or someplace that sells used textbooks. (I buy 'em cheap and resell them.) I like to use the companion website on the back of the book. If you know the book Excelsior is recommending, you can usually get the companion site by doing a google search. I always look for practice testing. I could have used more on the last exam.

These are the sites I used:

Crystal,

- Was it a Snohomish library that had the textbook? (I'm trying to look it up there myself but their website isn't loading). Nothing in King county libraries.
- Was PAA easier than World Pop?

Thank you!

Yes, it was in Sno-isle. Sno-isle appears to be down right now. It wasn't the Excelsior book, but it was by one of the recommended authors.

I found it more interesting than World Pop.

Where do you live? What are you going to do with your degree?
