Excelsior College announced a partnership with Pizza Hut today:
The program, called Life Unboxed EDU, allows employees to apply their on-the-job management-level training courses as credits (up to 69 credit hours for Area Coaches and up to 53 credit hours for Restaurant General Managers) toward their chosen degree program at the distance learning institution.
The Life Unboxed EDU program gives every Pizza Hut employee â equity or franchise, salaried or hourly â and their immediate family members a discount of 45 percent off undergraduate tuition at Excelsior College (15 percent for graduate programs). On top of that, Pizza Hut will pay up to $5,250 per year in tuition, books and fees for each salaried, full-time corporate employee participating in the program. This direct-fund, upfront payment is not a reimbursement, allowing team members to start their ongoing education journeys immediately, no matter their financial status.

Holy cow, wonder if they would pay for the UEXCELs too ( Never mind, just read it was an upfront payment). Also every store only has one GM correct? I feel like 53 credits is insane.

Odds are those credits will fall under MGMT, leaving electives open as well. Before I could really know how I feel I'd like to know how long it takes to become a GM, if it is something that you have to work up from like an assistant manager or is it like a 2 week OJT and a few CBTs. Also would like to see if they are all lower level, transfer in as electives or how they work into their degree plans.
I can understand the military getting around 50 credits (which usually fall under electives unless your job directly relates) because at tech school and follow on training they have to go to a class 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Additionally they have to complete a few volumes of CDCs depending of career field can be easy or hard.
This could be the quickest way to skip 2 years of college if you have worked as a manager of any fast food chain.

I'm not a Pizza hut employee but the training processes at Starbucks which also has ACE approved training, works like this, Barista training 2 weeks plus about six hours in front of the screen at the store. This is equal to half a credit. Supervisor training 3 weeks with about 30 hours on screen training equals 3 credits ASM one year training plus unknown hours on screen training, thats the route to GM. Pizza hut guy in the video listed a lot more training courses he took on the job which might make the difference, however as a Starbucks employee (formerly) I wouldn't say it was easier or fastest route. Starbucks is supposed to pay for CLEP tests but I could never get them to do it the policy of payment was never set up correctly in their system. Currently as a Starbucks employee you can transfer to ASU if you have an AA and then all of your AA credits are not counted. Maybe Pizza Hut will do a better job the Starbucks but it wouldn't be a route I'd recommend unless you already work there. Excelsior is the online school with 18,000 online students as always Ever Upward!
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

The credits appear to all fall within the business degree; satisfying Principles of Mgmt & Business Electives, upper level and lower level credits.
