EC "Depths"
#1
Does anyone here know how the depths at Excelsior College actually plan out? I'm trying to decide between EC (less requirements based on my transfer credits) and COSC (who wants more UL credits from me); however, i've talked to many advisors at EC and they all seem to give a different answer. I've applied as a psychology major; however, some advisors state if you choose a major you only need to complete the requirements in depth 1, and ignore the requirements in depth 2; however, others say you have to complete the requirements in both depth 1 and depth 2. Are their any psychology majors or EC graduates whom have experience how this manifest?

Looking over my pre-conferral transcript, it looks like they had me fill both depths, but I graduated about 3 years ago.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

According to the Liberal Arts catalog, the college that contains the psychology major, you will have to complete one depth and the other is covered by your major.

Every bachelor’s degree student is required to dem-

onstrate expertise by certifying depth of knowledge
in at least two different disciplines or subject areas.
In each of these areas you must complete at least
12 credits, including a minimum of 3 credits at the
upper level.
TESC 2015 - BSBA, Computer Information Systems

TESC 2019 - 21 Post-bachelor accounting credits

That's what I just noticed while looking at everything.

I am graduating next month. I had to do two depths (easy, peasy) because I don't have a major.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

So those without majors have to complete 2 depth areas?
#7
Yes. Those will majors complete one of the two depth areas by the credits in their major.

Thank you so much for your reply. I was under the impression that I had to complete "depth 1" and "depth 2," being that I already have depth 1 completed.
