I was wondering how to do a double major at UMPI. My goal is to have 60RA credits so I have what I need for the CPA cert and also should I choose to go to law school.
I know that the GEC counts for both majors. But was wondering if I have to do more general electives or do I only have to complete the core requirements for the second degree?
Also if I were to have a double major can I transfer in more than 90 ACE credits. I believe I cannot.
I would appreciate any other suggestions on how to get those extra 30 RA credits with a second degree at UMPI.
CLEP - 7 Courses, Study.com - 11 Courses, Sophia - 15 Courses, CSM Learn, INSTANTCERT - Spanish I, Coursera - Google Data Analytics Certificate.

Depends on the degree programs. Which degrees are you looking at?

You CAN transfer in more than 90 ACE credits, but you can only use 90 of them.
If you're self-funding your degree, you can complete degree #1 and then tell them that you'd like to add major #2; then just keep taking courses. If you're using financial aid, IIRC, they are more strict.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

For my second degree at UMPI financial wasn't available to me because I've already completed a bachelor's degree.

Exactly, OP needs to provide more details on what major they're looking at or if they're trying to get a double degree. Details are missing...

Don't worry I'm psychic. OP is majoring in BA Accounting and looking most likely to double major in business admin.
OP needs 150 total credits to be a licensed CPA.

Course Experience: CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

@LevelUP, awesome! That's what the cap is for! Yeah, I think OP has to decide, either a double major, or go for a Masters. I'm not sure which state they're in, but the previous post I updated, I mentioned to them to go the way of the Masters. However, if they need graded credits, then the double major is a better option as I think WGU Masters in Accountancy is using the pass/fail format... I forget.

Well if they want a BA in Accounting and an additional 30 credits then they will need to complete a degree in Criminal Justice, English, or History. Getting a second degree at UMPI isn't an easy process and can be a bit tricky. Or they could just complete the Accounting core at UMPI which is over 60 credits. Seems like they're making this far more difficult than it needs to be. What's so spectacular about this master's program?

I just need 60 RA credits to apply to law school AND I need 150 credits to get the CPA.
So with the BA Accounting I will have 120 credits - still need the 30 credits for the CPA and I will still need the 30 RA credits for law school.
I just need some direction on how to get both of those accomplished at UMPI for the least amount of money/time. There wont be any financial aid.
A masters is not an option because I believe that law schools look at the 60 credits before you get a bachellors.
And later if I want I can get the masters in accounting.

Then that settles it, you can go for a double major at UMPI or if you prefer, go for a different degree... I think you've seen another member on this board mysonx3, they got a TESU History & Psychology dual degree and was able to get into a top 14 law school and an IVY at Cornell. As LevelUP mentioned - You can go for the BA Accounting and get a BABA Project Management or some other concentration for the BABA degree available on YourPace.
