Don't misrepresent where you went to school.

But I figured out courses delivered online with a weekend requirement would count as a residency course. I could spare a couple weekends in Boston over the next five years to hit that three-course residency requirement for the English degree. I just gotta find a couch to crash on to save on lodging expenses. Anyone live near Boston/Cambridge?

I take EE programs in Boston/Cambridge at Harvard.  The housing is the biggest $$$.  Lyft/Uber is great.  I am locked into HU housing if I was not I would save 66% and do a local Airbnb.

HES says that the ALB graduation rate is 84%. If true, I find that to be a lot more impressive than having an exceptionally low graduation rate.

It sounds like they don't count the people who attempt the admissions courses and either drop or don't make the grade. That would certainly improve the numbers. It's nonetheless a really good stat.

"Admitted students prove their ability to succeed at Harvard in their admissions courses"

They've filtered out the curious - to pursue admissions requires time and money (cash) . You can't even apply for financial aid unless you're admitted, so 84% is great, but it selects for the most motivated and most invested.

Harvard Extension came up in a Dallas forum. This employer found out from a colleague that a job applicant was in a "special program" and didn't know that Harvard offers online degrees.

Quote:Some high school kid simultaneously finished high school diploma and Harvard extension B.A. but it didn’t get him accepted into a single elite undergrad or graduate school.

Haha, the kid is 17 and he's in the reserve group for admissions to Columbia Law School... at 17. While it's true that being in the reserve group means it's possible he won't get in, it also means his options clearly aren't being drastically limited.
