Does TESU Accept a Pierpont Degree?
#1
Hello. I was just wondering if anyone knows if TESU will accept the BOG AAS degree. I know someone said WGU accepts it.

TESU and WGU more or less ignore all associate degrees, as do most universities. They are evaluated on a course-by-course basis. You will not get gen eds waived by having any associate degree, unless that degree happens to align with the gen eds of the school you wish to attend.

TESU/WGU accepts AAS degrees, it depends on what the courses are going to be for transfer. In fact, most schools will not transfer a block from the AAS as these technically are supposed to be terminal degrees, and so an evaluation of each course is required. They'll review the transcript and see what can and can't be transferred in...

TESU will "accept" a BOG AAS degree in that they'll look at each individual course you transfer in. There is no upside to getting an associates degree to bring to TESU, since they don't do a block transfer.

WGU does do block transfers of AAS degrees, and it may negate the need to take any GE courses there. Of course, you may end up trading 60cr from your BOG AAS for ~30cr for GE's, so it's not a GREAT deal or anything. But if you happened to fill your electives with courses that would transfer into your major, then you may get a lot of bang for your buck.
